MSI Prestige 13 Evo: Design

The MSI Prestige 13 Evo is a great illustration of the general trend toward thinner and lighter laptops in recent years. The MSI logo shines brightly in the centre of a glossy black plate, and the lid is subtly anodized in a dark grey to match the chassis. The beautiful blue hue of the hinge is an attractive design detail.
The lid of the laptop was able to be lifted off the deck without the laptop itself making the unpleasant decision to make the ascent with it. Inside, there is a stylish floating keyboard on a grey deck with enough room for my palms and the touchpad. The top bezel appeared a little thick because to the webcam and additional lip service (to lift the lid), despite the fact that the side and bottom bezels were slim.
MSI Prestige 13 Evo: Display and Sound
The 13.3-inch, 1920 x 1200 display of the MSI Prestige 13 Evo is quite bright but lacks vibrant colour. The preview for Fast X, and the screen was bright enough to make out individual features on the race cars. For an instant, you could make out individual hairs in Vin Diesel’s eyebrows. Nathalie Emmanuel’s pale brown skin looked especially lovely against the bright red and white of her outerwear.
Our colorimeter revealed that the MSI Prestige 13 Evo only managed to cover 79.4 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, placing it well below the premium laptop average of 93.3 percent. Even while the X1 Carbon failed to make it (at 75.2%), the Swift 14 (at 90.8%) and the Gram 16 (at 118%) came quite close.
Keyboard and trackpad

MSI business and productivity laptops typically come with keyboards and trackpads that are not of very high quality. Both do not meet my standards of acceptable quality. This is another valid point. The keyboard does not have a very sturdy and responsive feel to it, and the trackpad seems to have an awful lot of empty space in it. To give credit where credit is due, MSI did improve the keyboard with a few new features this year. MSI informed me that the keys have a travel of 1.5 mm and that the trackpad is larger compared to the previous model’s iteration. However, when we were writing this evaluation, we found that we frequently needed to pause and reflect. The keycaps were a bit too light and shallow for my fingertips, despite the fact that they were rather large. You can buy this laptop from its official website
MSI Prestige 13 Evo: Performance
The MSI Prestige 13 Evo is a laptop that delivers remarkable performance. My evaluation model comes equipped with an Intel Core i7-1360P processor, 16 gigabytes of RAM, and a 1 terabyte solid-state drive. There wasn’t much that I couldn’t throw at it in terms of its intended application for increasing productivity.
When you have more than 20 or 25 tabs open, you could start to notice a delay in the application’s speed. Even more impressively, the thermal management has to be commended for this situation, since the fans have remained silent up until the point where things became quite intense. And when they do, the sound isn’t annoying, and this isn’t a device that never gets uncomfortably warm to the touch.
MSI Prestige 13 Evo: Battery Life
The MSI Prestige 13 Evo has an outstandingly long battery life. Another victory that was not expected for a device that is so lightweight and tiny. Even while it doesn’t quite live up to MSI’s claim that it will last for 16 hours,we were still able to get very close to the 12-hour battery life that our PCMark 10 benchmark revealed. You should be able to get through it without too much difficulty on a busier work day, and you should still have time to check your email in the morning and maybe attend to your morning Zoom meeting.
Price and availability
The MSI Prestige 13 Evo is a decent ultraportable that doesn’t feel excessive at $1,499 because to its solid configuration, adequate performance, and manageable weight. While Apple fans are more likely to pick a MacBook, business executives will be attracted by Lenovo’s outstanding ThinkPad X1 Carbon.
Two Editors’ Choice winners from HP boast even more stunning OLED displays, which will undoubtedly catch the attention of consumers. The HP Pavilion Plus 14 comes in at a couple hundred dollars less than the MSI GS65 Stealth Pro 14.
Final Words
It is possible that the MSI Prestige 13 Evo (2024) is one of the most interesting productivity laptops released so far this year because it demonstrates what MSI is capable of doing rather than making its claim as one of the best laptops with a thin-and-light design. However, this could also be the case.
There is nothing that could stop MSI from putting an OLED display in this computer and fixing the issues with the webcam if they tried. It boasts some of the highest productivity performance among its competitors and is superior to most others in its ability to avoid fan noises.
