The Poco F series used to be all the rage, but as the sub-brand grew, its mid-range phones started to look better. Enter the Poco X4 GT, which is a big step up from last year’s X3 GT and might be a better choice than the regular Poco F4. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC is without a question the star of the show.
We’ve had a chance to try it out, and the price-to-performance ratio is very good. It’s more powerful and more efficient than the Snapdragon 870, but it can still compete with the Snapdragon 888. In order to fit the new Dimensity 8100 into the Poco X4 GT’s price, some things had to give. The screen is one of those things. Instead of an OLED screen, an IPS panel would have to do.

Design and Screen

Xiaomi, the company that makes the Poco line of phones, has made a lot of phones in the £250–£400 price range in the last couple of years. They are usually very good deals, but their objectives are different.
The Poco X4 GT doesn’t put much thought into how it’s made or how it looks. Except for the glass that covers the screen and cameras and the metal side buttons, this phone is made of plastic. The Poco X4 GT feels like a budget phone without the case. Also, the straight walls on the sides of this phone don’t do much to hide its size. At 8.9mm thick, it’s thick. Poco X4 GT: Cameras
To be honest, we don’t have high hopes for Poco cameras. It’s understandable that the camera on a performance-oriented phone would take a backseat to other features. Below are some samples of photographs made with a mobile phone.
The Poco X4 GT’s Auto HDR software tends to accurately handle certain scenes around 95% of the time, and we were pleasantly surprised by how many of its shots we genuinely liked.
Poco X4 GT: Performance

Since it is powered by a MediaTek 8100 GPU, the major reason to buy the Poco X4 GT is for its performance. Even though it’s not as well-known as, say, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, it works just as well, which is great for a phone at this price. Compared to the Poco F4, which had a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and got 3687 on the GeekBench 5 test and 10,140 on the 3D Mark Wild Life test, the Poco X4 GT got 3719 on the GeekBench 5 test and 5855 on the 3DMark test. The Snapdragon makes that 3DMark score look much better, but the Poco F4 has much worse heat throttling than the Poco X4 GT. Its real lead in performance is closer to 30% than to almost 100%. The speed of the Poco X4 GT is great for the price.
Poco X4 GT: Battery Life
When it comes to the battery and charging, the Poco X4 GT is the same as the X3 GT. Both have 67W charging. But charging was much slower with the 67W charger and USB wire that came in the box. The X4 GT could charge one-third of the way from empty to full in 15 minutes, and two-thirds (65%) of the way in 30 minutes. In 30 minutes, the X3 GT was charged to 90%. The last third takes the X4 GT almost another half-hour, so it takes about 55 minutes to fully charge.
Price and Availability
The Poco X4 GT can’t be bought in the United States or the United Kingdom. Still, if you live in Europe, you can get one quickly. The basic 128GB version of the phone costs €379, while the 256GB version costs €429.
Final Words
It has a flagship-level processor, a 144Hz screen, a big battery, fast charge, good cameras, and dual-SIM 5G. You also get extras like a 67W charger, a headphone jack, and audio speakers. But things aren’t quite as amazing in real life. Yes, the Dimensity 8100 is a lot faster than the X3 GT and has a much better screen.
Overall, though, the cameras aren’t the best, there’s no (official) rating for water proof, the stereo speakers aren’t well balanced, and MIUI13 sometimes runs slowly.
Poco X4 GT review: The good and The bad
The Good
- Fast charging, good battery life
- Fairly loud speakers
The Bad
- Low-light camera performance isn’t great
FAQS
Only three things are wrong with every homemade ROM: the brightness of the screen is a little bit lower, 4G plus doesn’t work, and the camera app doesn’t have a “pro mode.” Also, I have 8GB of RAM, but I’m not happy with how it works. I don’t feel like I have 8GB. look is very nice. It’s amazing that anything can charge quickly.
After a lot of people have used the Poco X4 Pro 5G, it has common problems like network, fingerprint reader, battery drain, overheating, and Bluetooth connectivity issues.
