DESIGN
Built to deal with the rigors of on a regular basis use without sporting you down, the PRO 500 features a flexible, reinforced headband with ample padding textured for a nice feel. The band is formed to use simply the correct amount of pressure – comfortable sufficient to offer noise isolation, but gentle sufficient for lengthy listening sessions. Its ear cushions are terribly comfortable and clean, with a feel so pure you’ll by no means need to take it off. Drawing inspiration from the world’s best musical devices and bikes, the PRO Series headphones get your heart racing earlier than you even plug them in. Beautiful geometry and ultra-clean design curves are matched with premium color and end materials, and emblazoned boldly with the great Yamaha’s iconic tuning-fork marque, conjuring the ability and energy of our high-performance supersport bikes. The PRO 500 is out there in Piano Black and Racing Blue.
PERFORMANCE
The PRO 500 comes with two removable, tangle-resistant flat cables: one in a 4 ft size with an in-line remote/mic, ideally suited for many mobile applications, and one in a 10 ft size to be used in the home. Each cable is made from a material that’s durable and designed to cut back “contact noise” switch results. The flat construction retains the interior cores separated to reduce interference and terminates to a low-profile right-angle connector. The PRO 500 provides dual input/output ports, one on every earcup, offering versatile connectivity. A gold-plated ¼” adapter is included in the box for connecting to the professional-grade audio gear.
CONTROL
The 4 ft cable consists of an in-line remote/microphone optimized to be used with Apple iPod, iPhone, and iPad devices. The “+” and “-” buttons control volume for each music and phone calls, whereas the middle button, lets you play and pause the music, skip to the next track, skip to the previous track or answer/end phone calls. The controller buttons present a tactile click response, enabling intuitive operation without the necessity for visual reference. And for Non-Apple devices, control behavior varies due to some differences in all the applications and pin configurations.
