The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is a bit of a surprise because it looks and feels better than it costs. As a cheaper alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, you can expect some trade-offs, but we were really pleased with it overall. Even though it’s not as good as the Tab S8’s AMOLED screen, the 10.5-inch LCD screen doesn’t let you miss much. It has bright colors and a fast response time, especially compared to cheaper tablets like the TCL Nxtpaper 10s.
It is clear, clean, and sharp. This makes the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 a reasonable choice for someone who wants a portable device to watch movies or TV shows on the go. For a bit more money, LTE connectivity is also available. The Tab A8 feels like a much more expensive tablet than it is because the screen is built into a metal frame. It looks great, and the ends have a lot of buttons and ports to make things easier for the user.

Design and Display

When you take the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice is how small and smooth it feels in your hands. We were sure that it wouldn’t break if we dropped it without a case because it was made of metal. Its 10.5-inch screen is big enough for the basics, and it’s just a little bit bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7, but with its wider edges, it feels too small for work. Plus, the 16:10 aspect ratio makes it more easy to hold vertically than horizontally, making it feel more like a bigger phone than a smaller tablet.
With a weight of 1.12 pounds and a width of 0.27 inches, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is almost the same size as the newest 10.9-inch iPad, which means it’s both thinner and heavier than the Amazon Fire Tablet HD 10. I could even put the Galaxy Tab A8 in the pocket of some very wide basketball shorts, like those worn by Adam Sandler, but there was a good chance it would fall out if I just sat down. You can buy this tablet from its official website
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: Software
When it comes to the software, this gadget utilizes Android 11 as its operating system. This is not the greatest software system for Android, as applications have a tendency to make poor use of the additional space that is available, and they are typically not well optimized for the experience of using a larger screen on a tablet. However, it does at least provide you access to all of the various apps that are available on the Google Play Store. This includes all of your favorite mobile games, social media apps, and streaming services.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: Cameras

No one buys a computer because it has a camera. Still, if you want to make sure your video chats are clear or plan to leave your phone at home for your child’s play, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 cameras will get the job done, even if you won’t be turning heads any time soon.
The main camera is 8 MP and the front-facing camera is 5 MP, which is the same as the Galaxy Tab A7. These aren’t the best cameras for smartphones today, but they’re fine for everyday use. Even though the photos aren’t as bright and clear as they are on AI-powered phones like the Pixel 7, you shouldn’t try to win a photography contest with a tablet anyway.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: Battery Life
On paper, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8’s 7,040mAh battery sounds great, but it’s less powerful than the 8,526mAh battery in the iPad 2021 and the 8,000mAh battery in the TCL Nxtpaper 10s. Even so, it still has a good runtime of a few days, based on how it is used.
We let it play a movie at full brightness for about 2.5 hours and found that the brightness had only gone down by about 25%. That means that if you mostly use it to watch media, it will run for about 10 hours.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is just like other Samsung products in that it can be used by a wide range of people. For $229, you can buy the cheap tablet from Amazon, Best Buy, or Samsung’s website. The company has a lot of refunds and deals, so if you buy it on the right day, you might be able to get it for even less. There are three colors for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: silver, gray, and pink gold. You can choose how much storage room you want: 32 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB.
Final Words
The Galaxy Tab A8 is an affordable tablet that’s got a decent screen and reliable battery life. However during our tests we found the performance levels are very underwhelming, the camera isn’t great, and it takes a while to charge back up. This makes it a mediocre option in today’s tablet market.
