This final upload took under four minutes, which is fast for a cloud drive, but we worry about stability. With our typical Internet connections, a download should finish faster than an upload, but TeraBox throttles speed.
On our free account, 1GB was redownloaded in under nine minutes. Before high-speed Internet, this would have been reasonable; most competitors download in less than half the time, with several sub-one-minute times. Our 2023 tests were better. Our data uploaded in under 105 seconds. Though we averaged 70Mbps, TeraBox’s throttling slowed our upload below Dropbox and OneDrive.
File Recovery
For this test, we deleted the folder from the application directory, which meant that it was no longer on the device. It was possible to get the files back after we checked to see if they were gone from the cloud drive. Since TeraBox only lets you sync files with the cloud and not locally, we choose to delete our test folder from the Files section of the client. Right away, a helpful pop-up told us that deleted files would be kept in the Recycle Bin for 10 days by default, but could be kept there for 30 days if we paid for a Premium account. As soon as we confirmed the deletion, another window popped up directing us to the Recycle Bin, where we were able to get back all of our files without any damage.
