TeraBox, as the name suggests, gives you 1TB of storage space, and it’s completely free, unlike even the best free cloud storage services. It is a cloud disk for all users, which can be used for document backup, file sharing and video storage. Each new user can immediately obtain super large storage space when registering, which is the biggest feature that distinguishes it from any other cloud disk. Teams can easily sign in using a Facebook, Google, or Apple ID account.
TeraBox offers a safe space to upload files from multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets or computers. Backup enables people to safely back up files, such as videos, photos, and documents, without worrying about losing them. In addition, teams can easily create folders to manage files and documents.
TeraBox: Pricing
TeraBox’s free service is the best when it comes to cloud storage space. Giving away 1TB of space for free is a bold offer. There are some catchy things, though, like the fact that files can only be 4GB in size. With a free TeraBox account, users can only store up to 500 files. If a file is deleted, it is gone for good after 10 days. The app lets you add a little more storage space for free. We got an extra 2GB just for watching an ad, and users who open the app every day for seven days can get up to 61GB, though the fine print says that this storage is only good for 180 days.
Premium users on TeraBox can upload sizable files in a single attempt – up to 20GB on mobile and a substantial 128GB on PC. Regular users have one-time upload limits of 4GB on mobile and 20GB on PC. Additionally, premium users relish the exclusive benefit of playing videos in pristine 1080P HD quality.
For $3.49 a month or $35.99 a year, Premium members get 2TB of storage. This is a lot less than iCloud Drive and Google Drive, which both cost $9.99 a month. As always, getting a longer-term deal can save you money. There is a free trial period of seven days, but you need to enter your credit card information and allow auto-renewal. Premium accounts have extra storage, an up-to 20GB file size limit (only when using the mobile apps or Windows client), the ability to store up to 50,000 files, and the ability to keep deleted files for 30 days. The most important thing, though, is that you can now upload and download files at “ultra-fast” speeds.

User Interface and Experience
TeraBox has a modern, easy-to-use interface that can be used on the web, desktop computers, and mobile devices. The web interface is neat and clear, with icons for important functions like sharing files, uploading files, and downloading files. A simple search bar and well-organized folders make it easy to find your files. Some users, though, don’t like how there aren’t any more advanced search options, like file tags or filters.

Since mobile apps look and work just like the web, it’s easy to upload photos and videos from your phone. With automatic camera upload, you can back up your precious memories without any problems. It’s easy to share files, and you can set passwords, make links, and change when files expire. Some people like how simple it is, but others think it’s too simple. Drag-and-drop, multi-select, and nested folders are all features that could make managing files better. Also, ads that pop up from time to time in the interface can be annoying for free users.
Overall, TeraBox is pretty easy to use, especially for casual users who care more about storage space than advanced features. When it comes to power users, the restrictions might get annoying. Paid plans get rid of ads and give you access to features like faster speeds and bigger file limits, which make the experience much better.
TeraBox: Features
There are two different ways to use cloud storage. Most people think of an online storage space for their files, but some companies also back up users’ computers automatically, or they do both. Since TeraBox is only a storage service, it’s best to look at companies like Google Drive, Box, and Internxt. The browser portal is probably how TeraBox users will access their files, whether they want to upload, download, or view them. This is also how Google Drive users will do it. On the left are clear folders for different types of files, such as photos, videos, music, and documents. You can also get to the recycle bin from this page.

Deleted files stay in the recycle bin for 10 days before they are deleted for good, but Premium accounts can extend this to 30 days. People who want to share files can pick files that are already in their cloud drives or files that are on their computer or another device. There are other cloud storage services that give you more control over who can see your files, but we like what this one has to offer. TeraBox users can choose how to share a file (by email or with a unique link) and how long it will be available for (7 days, 30 days, or forever). They can also add an access code to make it a little safer.
TeraBox: Platforms
There is a desktop app for TeraBox that looks a lot like the web version. There are no ads on the main screen, but there are ads in the notification tray. There are a few more options in the desktop app, such as “folder backup.” An icon that floats in the app can quickly open the software. You can also drag and drop files to the drive icon to send them there. If you don’t want this icon on your desktop, you can turn it off in settings. The folder in the Windows navigation pane is one thing that is missing.
Security and Privacy
TeraBox cares deeply about its users’ safety and privacy, prioritising strong security measures to protect them. Using cutting-edge protocols like SSL, encryption algorithms, and access controls makes sure that private data is sent and stored safely.
The use of client-side endpoint encryption and a complex distributed system shows that TeraBox is even more dedicated to protecting user data with the highest standards of privacy and security. TeraBox is proud to hold and maintain ISO certifications that show its unwavering commitment to data protection, privacy management, and information security. These certifications, such as ISO 27001 for Information Security Management, ISO 27701 for Privacy Information Management, and ISO 27018 for Personal Data in the Cloud, show that the company is devoted to safeguarding user data at all times.
No matter if a user is on the free or premium plan, TeraBox’s strong security measures make sure that their data is safe while being sent and stays private while being stored in the cloud. Professional management of user data ensures a safe environment, giving TeraBox’s wide range of users confidence and peace of mind.
Usability and Performance
With an impressive 1TB of free storage, TeraBox stands out right away for its generosity. For ease of use, a simple interface on both the web and mobile devices makes it easy to move around. Both upload and download speeds on TeraBox are not restricted, and premium users enjoy high-speed downloads. Basic transfers work without any major problems, but they’re not lightning fast. But advanced users who want a lot of features might not like TeraBox.

There are limits on single file sizes (4GB for free, 20GB for premium), and the tools for organising files are pretty basic. There are some good sharing options, but none of the collaboration tools like editing documents in real-time. Concerns about security make some people look twice, but user privacy and security are very important to TeraBox. TeraBox uses cutting-edge SSL protocols, strong encryption algorithms, and strict access controls to make sure that private data is sent and stored safely. TeraBox protects users’ sensitive data with the highest levels of security and privacy by using client-side endpoint encryption and a complex large-scale distributed system.
TeraBox: Our Testing
We checked TeraBox’s sync speed, file recovery, and versioning in three main tests. The test was done on a Windows 11 virtual machine that was connected to the internet through a VPN server and had a steady upload speed of 70 Mbps.
Sync Speed
We first copied a 650 MB folder to the application directory to test the desktop client’s cloud sync speed. The 22-file folder contained MP3s, images, metadata, and a PDF. Our initial 2022 tests with TeraBox cloud syncing were unsuccessful. All but our ninth attempt to upload our 1GB test file failed. This final upload took under four minutes, which is fast for a cloud drive, but we worry about stability. With our typical Internet connections, a download should finish faster than an upload, but TeraBox throttles speed.

On our free account, 1GB was redownloaded in under nine minutes. Before high-speed Internet, this would have been reasonable; most competitors download in less than half the time, with several sub-one-minute times. Our 2023 tests were better. Our data uploaded in under 105 seconds. Though we averaged 70Mbps, TeraBox’s throttling slowed our upload below Dropbox and OneDrive.
File Recovery
For this test, we deleted the folder from the application directory, which meant that it was no longer on the device. It was possible to get the files back after we checked to see if they were gone from the cloud drive. Since TeraBox only lets you sync files with the cloud and not locally, we choose to delete our test folder from the Files section of the client. Right away, a helpful pop-up told us that deleted files would be kept in the Recycle Bin for 10 days by default, but could be kept there for 30 days if we paid for a Premium account. As soon as we confirmed the deletion, another window popped up directing us to the Recycle Bin, where we were able to get back all of our files without any damage.
Verdict
Not only does TeraBox outperform all cloud storage platforms that are currently available on the internet, but it also provides users with password-protected links that are backed by expiration dates. This makes the 1 terabyte of free space that TeraBox offers significantly more rewarding and impressive. In the application that is geared towards smartphones, the user interface is satisfactory; however, there is room for improvement in the application. The automatic backup of videos is an invaluable additional feature.
