Thieaudio Wraith: Comfort

Even though the ear cushions that are supplied in the package are of high quality, I was hoping that Thieaudio would provide a second set so that I could customize the sound. The pair that you receive are hybrid pads that have perforated rings on the outside and inner walls and leather where the pad touches the face. They are really comfortable, but as we will discuss in the section on the sound, a set of full-leather pads probably would have aided the bass extension in the lowest lows. Layered, eloquent performances with excellent separation for more expansive stages. The sounds envelop you and seem to come from all directions, while they may actually be coming from above. This makes the headphones appear taller than they actually are, giving the impression that the sound sources are more distant.

Some effects seem appropriately spaced, particularly in the context of more ambient music or live performances. The Wraith excels at handling close blends, so the mixture never appears too far ahead of you. The massive orchestrations really stand out against the folkier tracks and acoustic performances.
