The Treblab The best way to describe the HD Max portable Bluetooth speaker is as a cheaper alternative to the popular JBL Extreme 3 speaker. From far away, it’s hard to tell the difference between the HD Max and the Extreme 3. It’s a little bit bigger and heavier than the Extreme 3, but it only costs half as much. It can be splashed or rained on, but it’s not waterproof, so it can’t be submerged.

Indoor mode is my favorite because it works well with many different types of music.
As the name suggests, Bass Boost mode boosts the low end to make a sound with more bass. It works well for EDM and hip-hop, but the mids and highs lose their clarity. The speaker takes 5.5 hours to charge, and the LEDs that show the battery level let you know how much power is left in the speaker.

When there are two LEDs, the battery level is between 30% and 70%, and when there are three LEDs, the battery level is between 70% and 100%. The TREBLAB HD-Max can play music well enough. With the “Indoor” setting, this stereo speaker has some boom in the bass range, and its mid-range is mostly balanced, so vocals and lead instruments sound clear and present in the mix.
But it still doesn’t have low-bass, so it doesn’t have the deep thump and rumble that you hear in music with a lot of bass, like hip-hop or EDM. Aside from its presets, it doesn’t have any other ways to change the sound, like a graphic EQ, so you can’t make it sound the way you want.
