The TREBLAB HD-Max is a portable Bluetooth speaker that looks like the JBL Xtreme 3 and the TREBLAB HD77. It’s well-made and has an IPX6 rating for water resistance, which means it can withstand direct contact with water for up to three minutes. This means you can take it outside without worrying about getting it a little wet.
It comes with a strap that can be taken off and has a bottle opener built in, so you can open a drink with your friends while listening to your favorite songs. It’s also great for listening outside for a long time because the battery lasts a long time. It comes with “Indoor,” “Outdoor,” and “Bass Boost” sound modes.

Treblab HD-Max review: Design and features

The Treblab The best way to describe the HD Max portable Bluetooth speaker is as a cheaper alternative to the popular JBL Extreme 3 speaker. From far away, it’s hard to tell the difference between the HD Max and the Extreme 3. It’s a little bit bigger and heavier than the Extreme 3, but it only costs half as much. It can be splashed or rained on, but it’s not waterproof, so it can’t be submerged.
The HD Max speaker has a strong, detachable strap that can be slung over your shoulder while you carry all your stuff to the beach, pool, or any other place where people gather to listen to music. The strap connections are made of metal and don’t seem like they could break. You can buy this speaker from its official website.
Treblab HD-Max review: Controls and Connectors
The TREBLAB HD-Max only has four multi-function buttons on the top of the speaker for controlling and plugging in the speaker. On the speaker’s control panel, the HD-Max also has a light that shows how full the battery is.
There are three vertical white LED lights that show how much power is left. The HD-MAX also has a built-in mic for making phone calls. If a call comes in and you press the Play button once, it will answer the call. If you press and hold the Play button for two seconds, it will reject the call.
Treblab HD-Max review: Sound quality

The HD-Max has three EQ presets that make the sound better. Outdoor mode boosts the high frequencies to make the sound better in open spaces. In indoor mode, the sound is full and the frequencies are balanced across the range. The low end stays tight and punchy, and the midrange and high end stay clear. Indoor mode is my favorite because it works well with many different types of music.
As the name suggests, Bass Boost mode boosts the low end to make a sound with more bass. It works well for EDM and hip-hop, but the mids and highs lose their clarity. You can change the EQ settings of your smartphone as well as the presets on the speaker. This will help you get the best sound profile for your space and tastes.
Treblab HD-Max review: Battery life
At 30% volume, the TREBLAB HD-Max can run for 20 hours on a single charge. At full volume, you can expect the music to play for about 5 hours. When the battery is getting low and needs to be charged, a sound lets you know. You can still listen to music while the HD-Max is charging, which is great. The speaker takes 5.5 hours to charge, and the LEDs that show the battery level let you know how much power is left in the speaker.
When only one LED is lit, the battery is between 0 and 30% full. When there are two LEDs, the battery level is between 30% and 70%, and when there are three LEDs, the battery level is between 70% and 100%. Unfortunately, the speaker doesn’t have a way to tell you when it’s fully charged, so you’ll have to keep track of how long it’s been charging and guess how full it is.
Treblab HD-Max review: Price and availability
At the moment, Treblab HD Max costs $150 on Amazon and $190 on the Treblab site. It comes with a carrying strap, a user’s manual, a type-C charging cable, a product registration card, and a 3.5mm audio cable.
Final Words
The TREBLAB HD-Max can play music well enough. With the “Indoor” setting, this stereo speaker has some boom in the bass range, and its mid-range is mostly balanced, so vocals and lead instruments sound clear and present in the mix.
But it still doesn’t have low-bass, so it doesn’t have the deep thump and rumble that you hear in music with a lot of bass, like hip-hop or EDM. Aside from its presets, it doesn’t have any other ways to change the sound, like a graphic EQ, so you can’t make it sound the way you want.
