The pricing of the Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro is the feature that draws the most attention to it. Although it has a list price of 249.99 dollars, we have seen this tiny projector go for as little as 170.00 dollars when purchased through Vankyo. This should give you a clear indication right away that the projector in question is not one that you would want to use for an immersive home theater setup.
However, it has an image quality that is suitable for casual viewing, and it is inexpensive enough that it is worth considering even for strictly infrequent use, such as during rainy days spent home or movie evenings spent outdoors. It also includes a surprising number of features for the price, such as audio quality that is acceptable, wireless screen mirroring for Android and iOS devices, an HDMI cable that is supplied, and a soft carrying bag that can be used to store it in a secure location when you are not using it.

Design and Display

Both the minimum and maximum resolutions of the 470 Pro are 1080p. It uses a single LCD device with a resolution of 5,760 by 1,080 pixels and is lit by white LEDs. Each cell in the LCD matrix is fitted with a red, green, and blue filter to produce a 1,920 by 1,080 pixel image. The 470 Pro prevents rainbow artifacts, which are typical in projectors with only one DLP imaging chip, by displaying all three basic colors simultaneously.
Like the Vankyo Leisure E30 and Leisure 495W, the 470 Pro is a portable small projector. The ViewSonic projector M1 tiny, for example, is a budget-friendly LED DLP projector, although it isn’t as portable as a palmtop or pocket projector. The 470 Pro, however, is relatively compact, even for a little projector. It’s 2.2 pounds and 3 by 7.8 by 5.7 inches in size. This palmtop just has a cord for electricity, unlike most pocket projectors which also include an additional power block. You can buy this projector from its official website
Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro: Controls
The controls on the Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro tiny projector are well-placed and simple to use. The on/off switch can be found on the top or front of the unit. The projector’s menu can be navigated with the help of neighboring navigation buttons. You can select from many inputs, including HDMI, USB, AV, and SD card, with a dedicated source/input selector knob. There are settings for adjusting the volume and keystone correction for lining up the projected image. The Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro is easy to use thanks to its intuitive interface, which allows you to adjust the settings to your taste.
Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro: Video Quality

The quality of a video projected onto a screen can be evaluated in two ways. The first is the projector’s “native resolution,” or the highest resolution it is capable of displaying. The Leisure 470 Pro is capable of a full 1080p on its original setting. Videos with a lesser resolution will still be playable. A 1080p video file, however, can be played without any loss of quality.
Supported resolution is another metric for evaluating a projector’s video quality. Many projectors support resolutions above and beyond what they can really display. The video is simply lowered in resolution to match the projector’s capabilities. Thus, a 4K video could be played back in 1080p on a projector that supports it. Unfortunately, 1080p is also the highest resolution supported by the Leisure 470 Pro. No 4K video, even in low-quality mode, will play.
Vankyo Leisure 470 Pro: Performance
For less than $250, how good of a camera can you get? Recent developments in lens technology are largely responsible for making this reasonably viewable. Neither the resolution nor the color accuracy are quite as good as they could be. Native resolution is 1080p HD, and while image quality is highly dependent on the source video, a nice image can be rendered with a respectable degree of sharpness. While we didn’t need to draw the shades during the day, we did so because the natural light was so pleasant. For a low-cost projector, the colors look fine; it would be impolite to expect more.
Final Words
For some reason, the phrase “for the price” keeps popping into my head. And considering the price, it’s not a bad deal at all, although the price is quite low. If you want a projector that you’ll use nearly every day, it’s probably a good idea to put aside a little bit extra money and buy one that’s one tier higher.
Especially if you do not already own a good pair of speakers, as you will need to spend that money on some speakers regardless of what you do with the money.
