Victrola Music Edition 2 review: Design and features

The Music Edition 2 has a contemporary look that, in our opinion, would look good in most people’s homes. In addition, we loved how the front of the jacket features a geometric design that adds a bit of aesthetic interest without coming off as overly flashy.
The speaker’s casing is made of metal, which gives it a more robust feel than many of the other portable speakers that we have tested. Because it has an IP67 rating, you can feel confident taking it to the beach or poolside without worrying about it getting damaged. You can buy this speaker from its official website.
Victrola Music Edition 2 review: Connectivity
The Music Edition 2 can connect to Bluetooth 5.0 devices up to about 33 feet away. Only the standard SBC and AAC codecs seem to be available, but in my tests, these codecs didn’t hurt the sound like they could with older Bluetooth speakers.
The Victrola Music Edition 2 can connect two speakers to make either stereo sound or two separate mono sounds. This seems to only work with the same speaker model, though, because we couldn’t get the Music Edition 1 to pair with it. There’s a chance that this will be fixed in a future firmware update.
Victrola Music Edition 2 review: Sound quality

With Bluetooth 5.0, the Victrola Music Edition 2 is easy to connect to smartphones, tablets, computers, and other Bluetooth-enabled audio devices. We had no trouble hooking it up to anything we tried.
There is no AirPlay on it. It also has a line-in, so you can connect it to a device that doesn’t have Bluetooth or use it to free up a Bluetooth slot on your Mac if you want to. It can even play MP3s from USB-C flash drives, which is useful if you’re going camping and don’t want to use up your phone’s battery playing music.
Victrola Music Edition 2 review: Price and release date
We like that it can be used outside and that it has a unique wireless charging pad that can power other devices. However, the lack of a companion app (and, by extension, an EQ) makes it hard to overlook how bright the sound is. In this price range, the JBL Charge 5 ($179.95) is a better buy because it has a more balanced sound output and is a little easier to carry around.
Final Words
The Victrola Music Edition 2 is easy to sell if you like how classy it looks or like the idea of a speaker that can be charged without a cord. It has a good battery, a fair price, and the sound quality you would expect for the price. It’s a good thing that it can be used outside.
But the sound quality isn’t great for the price, even though it’s not a portable speaker. It is also hard to get until it officially comes to the UK. At the moment, we have to tell Brits to choose something like the Sonos Roam or Bang & Olufsen Beosound Explore, which are both less expensive, sound good, and can withstand water up to IP67 standards.

FAQS
Can I hook up speakers to my Victrola record player?
If your turntable has a preamp built in, this will be very easy to set up. Connect your turntable to your Bluetooth home speakers by plugging the RCA end of your cable into the turntable and the 3.5mm end into your Bluetooth speaker.
Does Victrola have good sound quality?
Victrola has your back with so many models to choose from. Time and fans have shown that the engineering can’t be beat. You can’t really do anything wrong. Every Victrola record player is a good buy if you want to play your vinyl collection. They all have sound equipment that works perfectly.
Why is my Victrola turntable so quiet?
The nature of record players is to be quiet. They make an electrical signal that is so weak that it needs to be amplified twice. What’s going on? A preamp (either built-in or external) first boosts the signal, bringing it up to the same line level as a CD player.
