We’ve made significant progress since the era of the gramophone. Turntables today are designed to appeal to modern music fans who place a premium on convenience, thus they may be used for a variety of purposes outside just playing reverse Slavic funk records. When it comes to ease of use, the Victrola Stream Carbon is unparalleled.
It’s the first record player to be officially recognized by the Works with Sonos program, and its Wi-Fi connectivity and sleek appearance are what set it apart from the competition. This allows you to stream your vinyl records wirelessly over your Sonos speakers. The Stream Carbon is a high-end record player designed for use with Sonos systems, and it retails for £899. But does it provide as promised.

Victrola Stream Carbon: Design

The Victrola Stream Carbon might be based on what people thought home music would look like in the 1980s. It reminds me of the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s simple, doesn’t change the pitch, and has a big volume button that gives off a white glow. It goes well with my decor because the sides are rounded and the front is smooth. The die-cast aluminum plate has a silver matte finish, and at just under 11cm tall, the whole thing fits on a shelf pretty well.
It also comes with a dust guard and protector, but we think it could be better made. Since it doesn’t connect to the turntable, we mostly put it on the floor or in the record box. Every part of the turntable feels solid and has a weight that makes you feel safe. A veneered MDF plinth with low resonance is strong and passes the accepted “doesn’t skip when we hit the table” test. You can buy this from its official website
Victrola Stream Carbon: Set up

There are a few things to keep in mind. We liked trying the wireless connection, and we put the turntable on a small table next to my desk. The Stream Carbon Wireless’s motor was a bit louder than we would have expected from a turntable at this price. We could hear the noise between songs and in some quieter parts of the music. But we didn’t hear the noise when we were on the other side of the room.
Final Words
The Victrola Stream Carbon makes it easy and simple to listen to vinyl on a Sonos system. It’s basically a plug-and-play device. It stands out and looks very trendy, too. The coolest thing about it is possibly its glowing volume knob, which lets you change the volume of your whole Sonos multi-room system with just one turn. Bottom line: If you have a lot of Sonos speakers and like how this modern player looks and how simple it is, you will love the Stream Carbon. But there are also a number of reasons why you might not want the Stream Carbon. Even though it’s easy to use and set up, the turntable should have been easy to find in the Sonos apps.
Victrola Stream Carbon review: The good and The bad

The Bad
- ‘Works with Sonos’ is a costly badge
FAQS
The Victrola can be moved safely on its back or standing up (in a truck or van). Wrap it well in furniture blankets to keep the finish from getting damaged. Large Electrola and Radiola machines from the 1920s will need to be moved in a different way.
The Revolution GO has a rechargeable battery built in that lasts up to 12 hours. This means you can play your favorite vinyl tracks anywhere, even without an outlet.
