When we evaluated the regular Wyze Video Doorbell a year ago, we awarded it good marks for its reasonable price, multiple connections, and free cloud storage. However, we lamented the fact that the device could not enable voice commands, required a wired setup, and had capabilities that were only accessible through a paid membership.
The newly released Wyze Video Doorbell Pro (priced at $93.99) achieves the same excellent grades as its predecessor while also introducing innovations such as a wireless design, a camera with a greater quality, and support for voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant. The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is still the best option when it comes to economical smart doorbells, despite the fact that you are required to pay a nominal price for intelligent notifications.

Design and Installation

There are two screw contacts on the back of the doorbell if you want to hardwire it. There is also a microUSB port with a rubber flap over it for when you need to charge it. The video buzzer isn’t compatible with the Wyze Solar Panel because of how it’s made. The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro doesn’t have local storage like the Nest Doorbell (Battery) or some of Wyze’s other cameras, like the Wyze Cam v.3, which is one of the best home security cameras. Instead, all of your movies will have to be saved to the cloud.
The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro can be connected or run on batteries alone, just like the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd Gen). Like Ring’s video doorbell, if you want to charge its battery, you have to take the whole unit off your door. This means you won’t have a buzzer for a while. You can buy this video doorbell from its official website
Wyze Video Doorbell Pro: Video quality
The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro has a size of 1440 x 1440 pixels and a wide 150-degree field of view in both directions. Overall, for a video doorbell that costs less than $100, the quality of the video was pretty good. We couldn’t do a straight head-to-head comparison with the Ring Video Doorbell, but when we looked at older footage we had recorded.
Ring’s camera tended to have much richer colours and a bit more definition than Wyze’s camera. The Wyze Video Doorbell Pro also had a bit of blur around the edges of things, which is normal for fisheye lenses, and the edges of the picture were a bit distorted.
Wyze Video Doorbell Pro: Performance

The power life of the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is another question. Wyze says it could take up to six months, but my tests show that it’s more like six weeks. My porch is pretty busy, so we have it set to record at the best quality with no cooldown and for up to 30 seconds. To charge it, you also have to take the button off. Most of the time, wired doorbells work better, so it’s best to do that if you can.
Final Words
The main competitor to the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is the Ring Video Doorbell (2nd gen), which costs $99. The Wyze costs $89.99, while the Ring costs $99. The Wyze, on the other hand, comes with a ring, which you have to buy separately for the Ring. Both Ring and Wyze video doorbells can run on battery power alone, and both can identify packages as long as you pay for a subscription, which costs $3/month for Ring and $1.99/month for Wyze.

FAQS
It doesn’t cost anything to use. But if you want more options, you’ll need to pay $1.99 per month for Wyze Cam Plus.
Wyze doesn’t use cheap materials, and their specs are about the same as most other smart cameras on the market. This claim is therefore invalid. The fact that the people who make Wyze goods are considerate may be the most important reason why they are cheaper.
