Airmail vs Spark: user interface
From the look of the user interface, it seems like the same team made both apps. First, let’s talk about Spark. The app follows iOS design rules by having the main options at the top and a hamburger menu at the bottom. At the top are the Smart Inbox, the calendar, and the search menu. At the bottom is the button to write a new email.
It is the same as airmail. It looks like the hamburger menu and has the most important options, like “Create” and “Search,” at the top. Airmail should think about whether or not the bottom bar menu could be used for the main options.

Airmail and Spark have been carefully made to look good with macOS Sierra. Both can also be changed in many ways. Spark lets you change swipe gestures, Smart Inbox, signatures, keyboard shortcuts, folders, delay times, and more, but Airmail is still the best.
Airmail even works with some apps that are not made by Airmail. Connect services like Wunderlist, Droplr, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and more to your menu to see tasks that are related to those services.
Airmail vs Spark: Email Organization
This is one thing that Apple’s default Mail app doesn’t do as well as other apps. Power users start to look for alternatives when an organisation is clean and works well. Smart Inbox sorts emails by what they are about and what they say.
There are different tabs for reads, pinned posts, notifications, and newsletters. When you tap the account name at the top of the app, a list of options like Unread, Add, Topics, Star, and Sort will appear at the bottom.

I do like two of Airmail’s pro features: reminders and “send later.” You can tell draughts to be sent or finished by a certain time by putting reminders in them. Better yet, finish the email and pick a date and time in the future to have it sent automatically if you want.
Airmail also has important formatting tools. You can write your emails in Markdown or HTML. HTML is great for sending newsletters because it lets you make professional-looking letters with pictures right in Airmail.

Both of these apps are pretty easy to set up. Once your accounts are made and set up, it doesn’t take long to get going. Spark has a cool feature called “Smart inbox.” It figures out what kind of email you’re getting and puts it in its own folder.
Airmail is very flexible and has many ways to set it up. One of my favourite options is “Send to 2Do.” This option sends the email to 2Do, opens 2Do at the task, and also gives a URL link to the original email.
