The JLab Go Air Sport headphones are a type of workout headphones that could be easy to overlook. But then the Jlab Go Air Sport came out of nowhere to show that history was wrong. They say that wireless earbuds and headphones don’t have to cost a lot to sound good and do more than just the basics.
This has changed our idea of the best workout headphones for good. The Jlab Go Air Sport might not be as good at ANC as the Fit Pro. But they have better comfort, fit, controls, and battery life than the Fit Pro, and they cost only 1/30th as much.
The JLab GO Air is made of plastic from the charging case to the earbuds, just like the JLab JBuds series. Even though it might not look the best, it makes the headset cheaper and lighter. Each earbud has a nozzle that sticks out at an angle.
These nozzles are big and may be uncomfortable for people with small ear canals. Even though the IP44 rating means the headphones are tough, they can still get scratched. The case is always open, which makes it look cool and easy to grab the earbuds, but it isn’t very protective. If you drop the case, the earbuds will fly out and probably get scratched.
On the bottom of the case is JLab’s famous built-in USB charging cable, which has been included in all of its true wireless products up to this point. This means that you don’t need a separate charging cable to charge the case. You can do it anywhere.
Even though I was sceptical at first, JLab says they tested this part and it can bend 10,000 times before showing signs of wear. The charging case is big because it has to fit the hooks that go over the ears. It sort of looks like a clamshell, has a flip-top lid, and has an LED on the front that shows the status.
On the back is a loop for a lanyard, but the box doesn’t come with one. On the bottom, there is a hardwired charging cable. We don’t like hardwired charging cables, especially ones this short. Be careful with it because if the cable breaks, you’ll need a new case.
Last but not least, their batteries last a long time. The Beats Fit Pro can only be used for up to six hours per charge, but the JLab Go Air Sport can be used for 8+ hours per charge, which is pretty close to what we found when we tested it. Also, the case can keep your phone’s battery alive for up to 32 hours.
