The Alto R1 has a very plain look. Its boxy design consists entirely of flat, rectangular panels and right-angle edges. The minimalist style is not broken by curves or decorations. On the front, there is only a black plastic chassis with a black mesh grille and a single white indicator LED. The soundbar is 2.5 inches tall, 31.5 inches wide, and 3.9 inches deep. It is small enough to fit easily under most standing TV screens. On the back of the soundbar is a place to plug in the power cable and a button to turn it off and on again.

If you have a Roku TV, setting up the Alto R1 is quick and easy. Again, you can’t use the soundbar at all if you don’t have a Roku TV. It doesn’t work with TVs that don’t use the Roku TV platform or with Roku media streamers like the Roku Streaming Stick 4K. But if you have the right TV, you just need to plug in the soundbar, turn on the TV, and hold down the Home button on the remote for five seconds. When the wireless audio setup menu appears, simply select Wireless Soundbar. The TV will automatically pair with the soundbar, connect to it, and install any firmware updates.
Where to get TCL Alto R1 Wireless 2.0 Channel Sound Bar?
Once you connect the soundbar to your TV, you can do everything with the TV’s remote and menus. This includes switching between modes like “Bass Boost” and “Bass Reduction” and turning on automatic volume changes and “Speech Clarity Enhancement.” You can also use the TV’s menu to connect Bluetooth audio devices to the soundbar and play sound through it. All of that is convenient, but the soundbar can’t work without your TV. To play anything through the Alto R1, you have to turn on your TV and turn on Bluetooth.
