The Garmin Dash Cam 57 looks just like its predecessors, but this time it has a latticed pattern on the front. It looks black and is about the size of a matchbox, which makes it easy to put on a window without being seen.

Putting the Garmin Dash Cam 57 together was easy. The kit comes with metal dots the size of your thumb that stick to the windshield and make it easy to connect and remove the mounting arm and device. We were able to put it in better places than we would have been able to with a bigger dashcam because of how small it was. We liked that the package came with two charging cords, one for forward power routing and one for reverse.

The Garmin 57 has a quality of 1440p, which is a little higher than 1080p Full HD. This is good news, since 1080p is now considered the minimum quality for a good dash cam. Final words
Like the other Garmin Dash Cams, it’s hard to find something bad to say about the 57. It’s a lot like the 47, except that it has a higher 1440p resolution, and it’s not as good as the flagship 67W because it has a bigger 180-degree lens.
Having GPS built in is a nice bonus, and we’ve always liked how easy and small Garmin’s windscreen mounting method is. It’s nice to have the new Vault system, but we think most owners will still move footage via the app or from the microSD card as usual.
