The camera on the Poco F5 Pro is identical to that on the regular Poco F5. The primary camera makes use of a 1/2.0″ 64MP OmniVision OV64B40 sensor with 0.7m pixels. The sensor works in tandem with an optically stabilized, f/1.8 lens. We think this sensor is a little antiquated, especially for the price. Larger sensors can be found at the same price or less.
The phone’s ultrawide camera still has 8 megapixels but uses a tiny 1/4.0″, 1.12 m Omnivision OV08D10 sensor and an f/2.2 aperture. The standard 2MP f/2.4 shooter on the phone is perfect for taking macro images. The modern selfie camera functions differently. Samsung’s S5K3P9SP04 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.5 aperture is at the heart of the new configuration. The F4 from 2016 had a 20MP camera.

Poco F5 Pro: Design

The F5 Pro’s front is nondescript; it’s a flat black slab (white models are also available) with a tiny cutout for the camera that sits high enough above the display to avoid interfering with web sites and videos.
It weighs only 204 grams, which is rather light for a device of its size, but the plastic frame and glass sandwich construction makes the phone feel cheap. A soft silicone case is included, but most buyers will want to invest in a more protective case. You can buy this phone from its official website
Poco F5 Pro: Display
In recent years, it has been the norm for Android phone screens to have a full HD (1080p) resolution panel. That holds true over a wide variety of prices, but Poco also outperforms its immediate competitors in many other ways. The F5 Pro’s WQHD+ display is as sharp as those on the S23 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and OnePlus 11.
In contrast to the vast majority of devices sporting QHD+ comparable resolutions, it is not activated by default. The default setting is full HD (1080p). The idea is that by decreasing the sharpness, the battery life will be extended.
Poco F5 Pro: Camera

The main camera on the Poco F5 Pro is 108 MP, which lets you take photos with a lot of information. It also has a wide-angle 8 MP camera and a telephoto 5 MP camera with a 2x digital zoom. Features like OIS, HDR, and AI scene recognition are built into the camera system. There is a 32 MP front camera with AI beauty mode and portrait mode for taking selfies. The camera can take videos up to 4K quality and has EIS and slow-motion features. Overall, the Poco F5 Pro has a high-quality camera that can take a lot of different kinds of photos and movies.
Poco F5 Pro: Software
There isn’t much to say about the MIUI 14 operating system, which is preinstalled and operates atop Android 13. It’s standard fare at this point, so anyone who’s used a Xiaomi phone in the last three years should be familiar with it. Some examples of the cartoonish animation style include an app “exploding” into fragments when uninstalled and a water tube standing in for the phone’s storage space. The shortcut toggle buttons and notification shade can be merged back into a single page if desired.
Poco F5 Pro: Performance
You would expect the Poco F5 Pro to deliver respectable performance given that it contains a powerful processor such as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and a generous amount of RAM to back it up, and you are not disappointed in this regard.
The Geekbench multi-core benchmark places it on par with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones like the Xiaomi 12S Pro and Ultra, but it outperforms phones with prices that are comparable to its competitors. The GFXBench tests, alas, were not compatible with the mobile device.
Greater performance is only available on Android devices powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipsets, such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 line of phones, and (less common) MediaTek Dimensity 9200 models.
Poco F5 Pro: Battery Life
The charging times are consistent with the overall impression of quickness and ease of use. The 67W rating means that even a brief charge of 10 to 15 minutes will keep you going for nearly the entire day. It takes about 40 minutes to replenish completely from empty. When compared to Apple, Samsung, and Google’s solutions, the 120W wired charging that comes with the Xiaomi 13 Pro is still exceptionally fast.
As we’ve mentioned before, this is the kind of speed that lets you switch up your charging routine. With 67W wired charging, you won’t have to leave your phone plugged in overnight or every night.
Final Words
The Poco F5 Pro’s affordable price tag is the device’s primary selling point. It’s a steal for that amount of money. The hardware is on par with that of flagship models from 2022 and more than powerful enough to handle the tasks we routinely throw at our pocket supercomputers. The cherry on top is the lengthy battery life, superb main camera, and lightning-fast charging.
Of course, there are exceptions to consider. The plastic build doesn’t bother me too much because I plan on keeping the phone in a case most of the time anyway, but the lack of software support and the fact that the phone will likely become obsolete before the three years of security updates promised are upsetting.
Poco F5 Pro review: The good and The bad
The F5 Pro is a well-balanced upper-middle ranger thanks to several premium-like characteristics that it possesses.
The Good
- Value for money
- Slick performance
The Bad
- Flimsy plastic frame
Questions and Answers
One of the best phones I’ve ever used, the POCO F5 Pro comes in at a price that’s more than fair. I’d suggest this phone to just about anyone because of its powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, amazing images in nearly all lighting conditions, and long battery life.
I was thinking of the Redmi Note 12+ Pro 5G when I was using the Poco F5 Pro. Both have a rounded back made of glass and a flat front made of 6.67-inch AMOLED with a cutout for the front-facing camera.
