Google gives impression of their new Phone Pixel 10 at London in a Pre release event secretly to some special “Superfans”.
This early reveal is well in advance of the phone’s anticipated official release in late June or early July, much to the delight and excitement of tech fans around the world.
Dubbed the “Pixel Penthouse,” the exclusive event treated 25 lucky Pixel Superfans to 90 minutes of hands-on time with the not-yet-released devices.
There was a Q&A opportunity between guests and Google staff, which is a rare opportunity to speak directly to the people designing and working on the feature.
It’s an unusual move for Google which is known for revealing its latest gadgets to mass-media attention, and as a way of creating buzz and engaging more with its hardcore fans.
Google kept shtum on what to expect from the Pixel 10 with regards to its features or specifications, but sources have claimed that there are four models of the phone incoming – the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
Their performance and efficiency are expected to be greatly improved, given that Google’s next-gen Tensor G5 chip is thought to power the devices, and could be mass-produced using TSMC’s advanced 3nm process.
There are also early whispers around some exciting camera improvements, too, with the standard Pixel 10 possibly sporting a new 11MP telephoto lens. The Pro versions are anticipated to have similar improvements, cementing the Pixel as the new gold standard for phone-based photography.
On top of that, the Pixel 10 line is expected to come with Android 16, highlighting new AI features and deeper on-device integration.
The choice to give Superfans a sneak peek cements Google’s dedication to the fans looking to be part of the community, while also allowing the company to create some organic buzz ahead of the actual announcement itself.
And the tech world at large is licking its lips to try the rest — this early event has already offered the lucky few invited one of the first tastes of Google’s newest phone. The rumors will be confirmed and more once it’s officially released in a matter of weeks.
