Niu must have sensed my shaking fists since it upgraded the programming to reduce this distance to 200 meters, which unlocks all features. The app isn’t necessary, but it’s worth trying to enable regenerative braking, cruise control, and a custom speed mode.

I liked the KQi3 Pro after numerous rides. It has great value. I usually got 15 miles out of it, but you should expect 18 to 20 miles (unless you’re tall like me). It goes 20 mph, rides comfortably on 9.5-inch tubeless tires, and stops quickly with disc brakes. You receive a bell, lights, and a handlebar phone mount. Since handlebars catch on stair rails, I wish they could fold down. This 45-pound scooter folds easily, but you may have difficulties carrying it more than a few flights of stairs. Gym time.

If money were no problem, I’d choose the Speedway Mini 4 Pro (9/10, WIRED Recommends) if I could only buy one Best Electric Scooter from this guide.
