Check Authy Account Details
Open the app and tap the top icon that looks like a gear. The screenshots below are from Authy for iPhone, so the layout may be a little different on an Android phone. In the My Account tab, you can see your Authy account ID, email address, and mobile phone number that you used to create this account. Everything seems fine, right?
The phone number you use to set up the 2FA code must be the same phone number you used to sign up for your Authy account. You can ask for a phone number change if you used a different number to scan the account in question.
Sync Time
When it comes to 2-factor authentication apps like Authy, time is of the essence. Notice how every 30 seconds a new code or token is made? Time is important here, and the clock on your smartphone needs to be in sync with the official time.
You don’t want to use the internet to change the time, or you’re going to a different time zone. Under Settings > Additional settings > Date and time, you need to set the correct time.
Clear Cache and Data
- Open Settings > Applications > Manage applications and search for Authy. Choose.
- Tap on Clear data at the bottom of the screen and select both Clear all data and Clear cache.
Using the Multi-Device Option
‘Authy Codes Not Working’ Well, it only works for people who use the multi-device setup and have Authy on more than one smartphone. Some Authy users like to have more than one account so they can keep their work and personal lives separate.
- For the 2FA code not working on your main Authy account, sign in to that 2FA account’s website (for example, Facebook) and use the 2FA code on your other or second device to sign in. You can also use a backup code. After that disable the 2FA code option.
- Open your main Authy account on the smartphone and remove all devices except for This Device under Settings > Devices.
- Now you will re-add the 2FA account as you did before to make sure everything is in sync
- Enable Multi-device if it’s not already turned on, allow the newly added account to sync, then uninstall Authy and reinstall it on your main device.
Verify Your Mobile Number
- On the upper right side, click the Gear icon to open Settings.
- Now, check the mobile number register for the app. Is it the same with the number you are using?
- Also, check the account ID and email to verify the accuracy of the data.
Try The Backup Codes
These are the codes that the app makes after you scan the QR code. If you have already saved or copied the codes, you can try to sign in with them. Your online accounts are safer with a 2FA code.
