If you’re having trouble with ‘Chrome Sound Not Working’, it’s most likely because the sound isn’t coming from a certain tab or because it’s turned off for the whole app. In both cases, the main cause is a wrongly set Chrome setting called “Don’t allow sites to play sound.” So, if you use the right settings, the problem should go away right away.
But you can still have trouble for other reasons, like using an old version of Chrome, a cache that isn’t working right, a bad extension, etc. Still, we’ve put together a list of solutions that can fix different kinds of sound problems on Chrome.

- Once you’ve disabled all extensions, restart Chrome and check your output. If audio is restored, return to the Extensions menu and re-enable each extension, one by one, checking that sound output isn’t affected. - Mac users can set the audio output device in the System Preferences menu. To launch this, select the Apple menu icon on the menu bar, then select System Preferences from the menu.
