What is a Force Touch trackpad?
Apple added Force Touch to its Macbook Pro and Mac laptops in 2015. Instead of a physical button, the Force Touch trackpad uses pressure and haptic feedback (technology that makes it feel like you are touching something) to make it feel like a click. But Force Touch is more than a click. It’s a tool that lets you use useful functions by clicking with a little more force than usual, depending on what you’re clicking on.
There are several ways to change it. If you turn it off completely, your trackpad will work like it did before, or you can change the amount of pressure needed to activate Force Click and the speed at which Force Click lets you move through music or movies.
