How to Use Stickies on Mac: The Stickies app is a built-in Mac app. It comes with macOS, so you don’t need to download it. The Stickies app, as its name suggests, lets you make small, virtual “sticky notes” that can be “stuck” to your screen, just like if you wrote something.
Stickies are like digital Post-it notes. Like the Notes app, the app lets you write yourself notes to help you remember things. Sticky notes, on the other hand, stay on your desktop so you can see them. If the note is very important, you can put it in front of all the windows so it’s always there to remind you. you can visit Apple support center for further help.
How to use Stickies on Mac
- Open Finder by clicking the icon in your dock and select File > New Finder Window in the Menu bar.
- Click Applications in the left-hand side menu. Scroll down and click Stickies.
- If you haven’t previously opened Stickies, you should see two sticky notes explaining how the app functions.
- Start editing these stickies with your own notes or close them and create new ones by selecting File > New Note (typing Command+N on your keyboard also works).
- Your note will automatically save and stay on your desktop until you close the Stickies app. If you don’t see your notes, make sure Stickies is open first.
Best Sticky Note Apps
Ghostnote
Note Browser and Script Editor are two of the app’s most useful features. Note Browser makes it easier to keep track of your notes by letting you see them all in one place. You can use the keyboard to look through your notes or use one view to search for and change notes. Script editor lets you write your own scripts to find documents.
Ghostnote works with seven themes, one of which is dark. The only problem we had with it was that the notes disappeared when we moved to a different window. Ghostnote is a paid app, but the company lets you try it for free for 14 days. One Mac costs $11.79 for a one-time subscription.
Quick Note
Quick Note notes can float on top of all other apps to stay visible. Stickies and Simple Antnotes don’t work in full-screen mode, but Quick Note does. This is one of the best things about it.
Shortcuts can be used with Quick Note. For example, you can create a new note or open the menu bar with a keyboard shortcut. It also works with dark mode. With the free version of Quick Note, you can create up to four sticky notes. If you want to take more notes, you’ll have to pay $7.99 to upgrade to the Pro version.
Unclutter
Even though Unclutter is not mainly a sticky note app, it can also be used for this. Unclutter is a program that lets you take notes, use a clipboard, and organize your files. If you only want to use the Notes app, you can turn off the other two tools.
Move your cursor to the top of the screen and swipe down to open the Unclutter window. If you want to use it as a sticky note app, drag the note panel outside the window. It will then stick on top of the other open windows. The best thing about Unclutter is that it can be used on any screen. It works in full-screen mode and in all “Spaces” on the desktop.
Lucidspark
The same company owns both Lucidspark and Lucidchart, which is very popular software for making diagrams. This app has a virtual whiteboard that you can use to share sticky notes with your team. To invite others, you can send a link, add an email address, or make a Join ID by clicking the Share button on a new board space.
Sticky notes can have more than one tag, and emoji can be used to show how you feel. This is a great way for a team that works in different places to come up with ideas together. You can see what other people are changing in real time and even comment on it.
