Apple’s Best Calendar Alternatives for iPad and iPhone
Fantastic
Fantastical is one of my most used apps on a daily basis. In short, I love the Fantastical UI, the most of all the calendar apps I’ve tried, and I’ve tried many! The UI is fast and fluid and contains a lot of information at a single glance. And there’s a Light and Dark mode to match whatever you’re using system-wide on the iPhone.
the app now features a unified interface for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Most importantly, Fantastical offers features to propose meetings, as well as extended support for Todoist and Google Tasks tasks. iPhone users will be impressed with dark mode support, plus a new full-screen portrait view; as you can imagine, the app now takes advantage of iOS 14’s ability to add widgets to the home screen on your iPhone.
another cool feature it is the clock of the day. It provides an easy-to-understand top-down view of all your obligations. There’s even a widget that syncs the app with the iPhone’s Today View, Google Maps integration, and voice support.
5 calendars
Calendars 5 is well established as one of Fantastical’s biggest competitors. The app is a joy to use. Moving between the various day, week, month, and year views is as simple as swiping in a specific direction. So you can seamlessly zoom in and out on multiple dates to quickly understand what you’ve planned.
List view makes it easy to get a sense of your future schedule and, unlike many other calendar apps, Calendars 5 doesn’t hide the details within the event. You can view the location, web conference and other event details without the extra opening step up the event.
Calendars 5 has a built-in reminder feature. Your reminders will sync with iCloud Reminders, which means you get a consistent list of content, no matter what app you’re using. The app also allows you to sync your Google Calendar to your iOS device without going into other iOS settings.
BusyCal
BusyCal is another popular calendar app for iPhone. The company makes one of the best calendars for macOS; the iOS calendar app is a perfect companion if you are already a user. Some of the apps worth noting features include customizable calendar views, an integrated to-do list manager and support for third-party calendars such as Google Calendar, Exchange, Office 365, Fruux, Yahoo, Kerio and more.
People who spend a lot of time on the go will also enjoy using BusyCal. It automatically shows travel time for upcoming meetings, supports Google Maps integration, and provides automatic scheduling of meetings.
Natural language parsing for creating events helps to define up appointments, with tags and a wide range of configurable attributes to get the details right. Map support can show the location of an event and estimated travel time, and BusyCal comes with to-do list functions that are supported by the iOS Reminders app. Almost the only thing we can criticize is its bland but functional appearance.
google calendar
As you may know, you can add Google Calendar to your iPhone by downloading the official app. Of course, this is great news for anyone who depends on the Google ecosystem for their daily productivity. But it’s worth checking out Google Calendar, even if you’re not a frequent user.

TimeTree is designed to keep family and small group schedules in sync, with support for multiple calendars displayed in month, week, or daily mode. Other tools, such as event-based messaging and notifications of events and schedule changes, help you stay organized.
When creating a new event, tap Title and TimeTree will offer suggestions and templates to make it easy to add to your calendar. The default suggestions are meeting, lunch, day off, part-time work, date and dentist – but TimeTree learns and improves these as you use the app. After testing the app for just a few days, it added “Meeting with Jane” to our suggested events.
TimeTree users can manage separate calendars, share notes and synchronize schedules across devices. The app can sync with Google and iCloud calendars, and widgets let you easily access your events from the lock or home screen. Timepage
Italian manufacturer Moleskine is more commonly associated with notebooks and newspapers than smartphone apps, but its Timepage calendar app is impressively robust.
But Timepage is more than just a pretty face. Exclusive features like a smart heatmap (shown in the upper left screenshot above), make scheduling easy by showing which days are full or open. The more opaque the circle around a date, the more events you have scheduled for that day. And you can turn on Smart Alerts in the menu to get notified when it starts to rain or receive a daily summary of your schedule.
First, it looks great. Coming from a company that is known for stylish products, this shouldn’t surprise you. If you value elegance, this is the best iPhone calendar app on the list. But most importantly, Timepage also has substance. The most unique app feature is the heat map. He puts circles around the days in his calendar – the more colorful the circle, the busier his day.
Advantage
Vantage looks… different. You can choose from nine “color packs” – from Blue Suede to Pink and Bistro (featured in our screenshots) – each drastically changes the app’s aesthetics.
For a different view of your upcoming appointments, try Vantage, a free calendar app for iOS devices. Vantage gives you an overview of your calendar with dates that stretch for a long time, while events and appointments pile up up one on top of the other. (Tapping a stack gives you a more detailed look at what you’ve scheduled for the day).
Color coding dates gives you a quick view of the days you’re busy, and you can keep tasks right in your calendar, where they appear up next to events. (Vantage still has tasks you defined up in the iOS Reminders app on your calendar.) Vantage syncs with Google, iCloud, Exchange, Facebook, and other calendar services.
Scroll through the days and the blocks will give you an idea of how busy or free you are: The higher the block, the more events you have scheduled for that day. Tap the corner icons at the top to expand or condense your days. If you’re a fan of more conventional ways to view your schedule, you can swipe left to see the schedule and 3-day views. Vantage also includes a to-do list (complete with optional reminders) if you swipe to the right. Combining this with the app’s emphasis on a bird’s-eye view of your schedule gives you the ability to manage tasks that most calendar apps don’t.
