The Nitro 17 may be a lower-middle-range gaming laptop, and while it avoids looking and feeling like a cheap computer, it simply does not give the luxury impression that some competitors at a same price point do. When considering that it is primarily made of plastic, the laptop is surprisingly durable because both the display and the keyboard deck are resistant to significant flexing.
Even the display cover is made of metal, and there are some elegant exhaust vents in the back that—crucially—do not put a bunch of plastic in the way of airflow. Acer spent a lot of money on these features. The trade-off is that this Acer is a chonk, to borrow the nickname that Instagram users have coined for overweight cats. Although its width of 15.8 inches is reasonable for a gaming laptop with this much screen real estate, the Nitro’s depth of 11.75 inches and thickness of 1.19 inches are on the hefty side, making it significantly larger than the Asus ROG Strix G17 when the two are compared side by side.

Where to get Acer Nitro 17?
The WQHD resolution, acceptable viewing angles, and outstanding contrast ratio are all features of the IPS panel found on the Acer Nitro 17 (AN17-71). Because it covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the image that is produced is guaranteed to be extremely colorful and pleasing to the eye. When combined with our Gaming and Web design profile, the display is able to achieve a level of color fidelity that is perfectly in line with the standards that have been established.
Because the display never flickers, pulse width modulation (PWM) is also not an issue with this product. Not to mention, it has a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which is rather impressive. The pixel reaction times are quite quick, which contributes to the overall smoothness of the image. In addition, the G-Sync support suffers from issues with tearing.
You not only have a wonderful display, but also a fairly extensive number of ports to choose from. It covers all of the sides of the laptop except for the front, and it gives you access to a multitude of USB Type-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a slot for MicroSD cards, an HDMI 2.1 front-facing camera, and so on.
