The TP-Link Archer A6 is an affordable dual-band router designed for budget-conscious consumers. It offers a few features found on more expensive routers, such as MU-MIMO data streaming support and four gigabit LAN interfaces, despite its affordable price. However, while its 5GHz performance is respectable, its 2.4GHz performance leaves something to be desired.
The Archer A6 has four non-removable antennas and a glossy black enclosure measuring 1.4 by 9.1 by 5.7 inches (HWD). Along the top front edge are LED power, radio band, Ethernet, Internet, and WPS status indicators. (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).

The 2×2 AC1200 router Archer A6 is fueled by a 750MHz SoC processor. It is capable of reaching maximal data rates of up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps on the 5GHz band. Accessing advanced settings requires using the web portal, but you can use the TP-Link Tether mobile app to access basic wireless and security settings, enable or disable parental controls, perform basic diagnostics, and configure guest networking.
The web portal opens to a network map displaying the number of tethered and wireless clients as well as your internet connection status. There are Quick Setup, Basic, and Advanced sections along with a settings menu on the left. Internet, Wireless, Parental Controls, Guest Network, and TP-Link Cloud settings are accessible via the Basic menu.
Parental Controls allow you to create profiles for family members in which you can restrict access to specific websites using keywords, limit internet usage, and view all visited websites. The TP-Link Cloud allows you to administer your network and client devices from any Internet-connected device, and guest networking allows you to create a separate network for guests with unique SSIDs and passwords.
