Samsung’s Galaxy A53 is the company’s newest mid-range phone. Well, to put it simply, the A53 5G seems like a good upgrade from the A52 5G and is a great phone for its price. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is the follow-up to the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A52s, which were very popular in 2021.
Even though it isn’t too different from its predecessors, Samsung seems to have made many improvements to its popular Galaxy A device in the right ways. The configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is available. There is also a better version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space, but it is harder to find in most markets. No matter which model you choose, you can add more storage by using the microSD card slot.
Like the Galaxy S22 family members, the A53 has an attractive screen. In fact, since the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and the A53 have the same resolution and refresh rate, with only a 0.1-inch difference in screen size, we imagine that most people won’t be able to distinguish the A53 from the larger Galaxy S22 Plus without comparing both phones side-by-side.
The back of the Galaxy A53 5G has four cameras: a 64-MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP wide-angle camera with a 123-degree field of view, and a pair of 5MP cameras for macro and depth. It’s the same setup as on the Galaxy A52, and the 32MP selfie camera is still in the middle of the top of the screen.
There is a Night mode and a Pro mode, as well as Samsung’s Single Take mode and the ability to record up to 4K video at 30fps or FHD video at 60fps. Also, the camera has built-in Snapchat Lenses, and the augmented reality effects work really well.
The A53 5G is protected from dust and water by an IP67 rating, which is still unusual in this class. So, the A53 5G should be able to handle splashes, spills, and a little bit of water submersion. If you’ve ever seen a phone drown after dropping it in water by accident, you know how important water resistance is.
The battery in the Galaxy A53 is 5,000 mAh, which is pretty big. Other flagships with 5,000 mAh batteries are the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and the Pixel 6 Pro. The Galaxy A53 competes with phones like the Pixel 5a to be the best cheap Android phone, and in many ways, it comes out on top. Even though its camera isn’t as good as the Pixel’s, the A53 has a great 120Hz screen, better performance, and longer software support.
