Hurry! ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Gaming Laptop in just $949.99 at Amazon

The Asus TUF Gaming F15 hasn’t changed too dramatically in the aesthetic department, meaning that it still has a masculine, gamer-like visual flair, with its gunmetal gray shell, faux screws on the lid, and chunky vented chassis. That doesn’t mean it looks bad. Among similarly beastly gaming consoles, this one is a bit more refined. However, it is still a style that you either love or hate. On the flip side, the plastic covering the bottom deck feels cheaper than softer-touch options like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, but this is simply one of those cost-saving measures to maximize the interior.

The Asus TUF Gaming F15 features a 15-inch FHD 1920 x 1080p display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 300 Hz refresh rate. These specs are solid for gaming, but if you want the best-looking display, you’ll have to pay more. Still, it does a decent job among its competitors, and the Asus TUF Gaming F15 features a full keyboard with numeric keypad. At the top of the keyboard are dedicated keys for volume, microphone mute, and opening Asus’ Armoury Crate app; the Fn key and function keys can be used together to switch between the keyboard’s three lighting effects and to switch between “Performance” and “Silent” operating mode.

Asus has refreshed its TUF Gaming F15 series for 2022 now that the Intel 12th generation CPU series is widely available. However, it is not a simple CPU swap, but rather a significant update to the FX506 chassis released last year to create the FX507. This review will cover all the major differences between the 2021 FX506 and the 2022 FX507, as well as the level of performance users can expect from the FX507.

The bottom panel can be removed relatively easily with a Phillips screwdriver and flat blade. As you can see in the comparison image below, the internals have been revamped, but the 2x SODIMM slots, 2x M.2 SSD slots, and removable WLAN module remain Asus has revised the keyboard layout when compared to the FX506. Some of the auxiliary keys are now in a separate row near the upper left corner, and the arrow keys are slightly longer. In addition, the font on each key is darker and grayer, which unfortunately makes it more difficult to read.
