Like the earphones, the soft-touch charging case is small and portable. It snaps shut magnetically with a confirming “click,” though the strength of the magnets and lack of an opening bar make it nearly impossible to open with one hand. The IP57 rating makes the Jabra Elite 7 Pro the most durable earbuds on the market, surpassed only by the Jaybird Vista 2. The earbuds are waterproof and dustproof like a pro, so you can easily take them to the beach, the gym, or anywhere else. You can also register the earphones to get a two-year warranty against water and dust.
Pressing the large button on either earbud controls playback, but you can also accidentally push the earbuds deeper into your ear. You can also customize the controls in the Jabra Sound+ app, setting commands for different combinations of button presses during music playback and calls. The earbuds are equipped with in-ear detection sensors that automatically pause music playback when they’re removed from the ear and resume when you put them back in.
Jabra claims that the earbuds will last eight hours on a single charge, and with the charging case, provide 30 hours of total playback time. That proved true in our test, as the earbuds lasted eight hours and 48 minutes of continuous playback at 75 dB(SPL) with ANC on maximum. It takes 150 minutes to fully charge the case and earphones, with five minutes of fast charging providing 60 minutes of playback time. The charging case is powered via USB-C or with a Qi wireless charging pad.
