  5. Tap the more button to access Connect to Samba Server Options

  6. Tap ‘Connect to server’. of the options
  7. Now you need to enter the network address of the SMB share you want to connect to. If you do this at work, your IT department can help you with an IP address. Tap “Connect” when done.
  8. Enter an IP address of the SMB server and tap connect

  9. The new share will appear under the “Shared” section of the “Browse” menu. Tap it to open the files on the shared folder.

And that’s all there is to it. Once you have set up the SMB share up when it is available when you need it. Even when you access and save files and data through other apps, they too can access the Samba share through the Files app.

You can use this to connect to any SMB network share, so if you already share files between Mac and Windows those machines are also available to connect to.
