AMD has confirmed the availability of their newest mainstream graphics card, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025 in Taipei.
Based on the powerful RDNA 4 architecture, the new card is expected to compete in the budget sub-$350 graphics card category, taking on NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 60 series.
The Radeon RX 9060 XT has two primary memory configurations: the first, an 8GB VRAM model, is set to be launched with an awesome low price tag of just $299; on the higher-end, we have a 16GB VRAM model for $349.
This competitive strategy is to make sure the gamers get great value of what they have paid in the mainstream category offering.
The 16GB variant is claimed to be up to 6% faster in terms of raw performance over the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, testing 40 titles. And of course, AMD also touts a 15% higher performance-per-dollar ratio than its rival.
Powering the RX 9060 XT will be the Navi 44 GPU, which is equipped with 32 Compute Units (CUs or 2048 stream processors.
The card also features 32 dedicated Ray Accelerators for accelerated ray tracing performance, and 64 AI Accelerators (important for features such as FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4). The clock speed at boost mode ranges from 3.13 GHz to. The Total Board Power (TBP) is ranging from 150W to 182W based on the memory type.
Boast a 128-bit memory interface with memory speed of up to 20 Gpbs and up to 320GB/s bandwidth, cut with 32MB of Infinity Cache, for a boost in memory performance.
One big improvement is that the full PCIe 5.0 x16 is supported, to meet for high bandwidth and single PCIe card compatibility with previous PCIe generations.
The VR Ready display outputs for up to 8K resolution are as following 3x DisplayPort 1.4 a and HDMI 1.8. The card is fed by a single 8-pin PCIe power connector.
AMD add-in board partners have already teased their custom RX 9060 XT cards in the form of ASRock, ASUS, and Sapphire, and these should be available on the pre-fake launch of June 5, 2025.
These AIB cards could have various cooling solutions & possibly a slightly different clock speed. The release of the Radeon RX 9060 XT will be eagerly awaited and might shake up the mid-range graphics card market too, so it will be interesting to see whether it can really hit that price / performance sweet spot.
