Bel, the international champion of cheese, fruit and vegetable snacking, is entering into a major partnership to support its comprehensive business reinvention with Accenture, aiming to establish a more sustainable, responsible food industry that caters to healthier, more accessible and more engaging food experiences.
The alliance will be devoted to the digitization of the value chain of Bel, from production to marketing of brands, through advanced technology and data.
Under the multi-faceted transformation, Accenture will bring consumer goods, sustainability, digital engineering and manufacturing expertise to help improve Bel’s operational resilience and agility.
We have a common team that will specifically work on rolling out a common MES infrastructure across the 11 core edible dairy and food plants of Bel globally.
This standardisation will improve efficiencies, minimise waste and lower energy and water usage – all of which will play a role in helping Bel to achieve its ambitious environmental targets, which includes a 25 per cent reduction in emissions by 2035.
Accenture will also help Bel set up an AI-driven advanced planning system for better logistics and supply chain management.
This breakthrough system will provide Bel with better visibility to anticipate changes in customer demand, lower costs, and guarantee product availability. In addition, the collaboration will improve data capabilities in the product lifecycle management of Bel, reducing time to market for new and healthier product inventions.
