Kyndryl and Google Cloud collaborate to reimagine energy roadmaps for enterprises, with AI to advance sustainability and productivity This extended agreement, furthering existing work between the two companies, meets the urgent need among organizations to reduce the energy and carbon impact of their IT infrastructure, as AI workloads multiply.
Kyndryl, the world’s leading provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, has earned the Google Cloud Ready – Energy & Carbon Designation and is among the first services providers in the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program to enable customers to design, develop and manage more energy efficient IT operations.
The collaboration comes at an important time after a recent Kyndryl survey found that while 90% of businesses agree that sustainability is an important factor in technology modernization, only 27% are seeing concrete results such as reduced emissions.
As part of this extended relationship, specialists from Kyndryl Consult will collaborate with Google Cloud to help clients meet their sustainability objectives. It will largely focus on strategic advisory and AI-optimized, pre-built solutions for measuring and optimizing energy consumption and carbon emissions in IT infrastructures.
This includes identifying inefficient workloads, locating AI workloads in carbon-efficient cloud regions, and also for the development of sustainable LLMs leveraging Kyndryl’s LLM Operations (LLMOps) Framework.
The project goes far beyond simple tuning of the current set-up. It aims to help businesses gain unparalleled insight into the energy consumption of their IT infrastructure, and be better placed to build a road map for a more responsible, low-carbon future.
Coupled with Kyndryl’s deep infrastructure management expertise, customers will benefit from the most advanced AI on Google Cloud while making progress in their environmental impact, operational efficiency and ability to comply with a dynamic regulatory environment. This partnership represents a key milestone in the application of AI towards a more sustainable digital environment.
