Highly-awaited Nothing Phone (3) is finally confirmed to be before us on July 1st, promising a big progress of design for the company.
The reveal is one that tech geeks and regular folks are eagerly anticipating, as Nothing has teased this phone to be its “first true flagship smartphone.” The launch event is set to commence at 10:30 PM IST (6:00 PM BST) and will be hosted on Nothing’s official YouTube channel.
The news leading up to the launch isn’t necessarily staggering, but the boldest move so far has been Nothing’s choice to “kill the Glyph Interface.” This iconic LED notification system — key design element of aforementioned Nothing phones — seems to be replaced by a new dot matrix pattern covering the rear.
This is part of a conscious departure from Nothing’s design philosophy, but we’re still waiting to hear exactly how much the company’s ideals are going to change, and what this new rear panel will encompass.
Internally, the Nothing Phone (3) is rumored to feature some high-end specs as well. That’s pretty much all we know for sure, though leaks abound and strongly suggest that it will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series CPU, which would be a massive step up from the Phone (2)’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
Other leaks are pointing toward the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is said to offer even better performance, power efficiency, and AI smarts. There is a good chance that the device will also support up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage fo a seamless and future-ready user experience.
In addition, we’re expecting a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate which should deliver bright visuals and smooth scrolling. Leaks also indicate a phenomenal peak brightness of 3000 nits even, which should make it quite outdoor visibility friendly.
Photography would be a major recipient as well. For the camera performance, it is rumoured that the Nothing Phone (3) will feature a triple rear camera setup which will be led by a 50MP primary sensor.
It’ll also have a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video-calls. With Coupled with Nothing’s focus on computational photography, expect better camera hardware and AI-driven software features for better mobile photography and video, as well.
The features will be backed by a 5,000mAh batter with probably 50W wired fast charging, and 20W wireless charging. On the software side, the Nothing Phone (3) is likely to have Nothing OS 3.0 powered by Android 15 to sport a cleaner UI and a good battery optimisation, if not new AI-based interactions.
No pricing has been revealed for India as of yet, but Nothing’s co-founder Carl Pei said that it’ll be around GBP 800 in the UK. This may correspond to an Indian price bracket of about ₹55,000 to ₹65,000, and would be a big leap from the previous generation. Flipkart should be the official sales partner in India.
With July 1st on the horizon, the buzz around the Nothing Phone just keeps on growing, offering a fresh new take on the brand and a flagship experience for its users.
