Last year, we were very pleased with the AOC Agon Pro AG274QG for a number of reasons, from its visual performance and quality to its build design. At first glance, the AOC Agon Pro AG274QZM seems to improve on almost everything that made last year’s model so well-liked. The switch to mini-LED backlighting makes the picture quality much better, so 1440p gaming at 240Hz feels better on the AG274QZM than it did on the AG274QG.
That is, if you don’t use HDR. The way HDR is used here just doesn’t look good. Even though the monitor is Vesa DisplayHDR 1000 certified, the colors look washed out and a little fuzzy by default. This could be fixed by changing some of the monitor’s internal settings, but there are still some problems with picture quality.
