FL Studio review: great DAW for music production

My experience with FL Studio has been nothing short of amazing. When it comes to composing music, I myself rely quite heavily on the mouse-and-piano-roll approach, and I have to say that this digital audio workstation is without peer when it comes to catering to this workflow. It has never failed to impress me with how user-friendly it is, and the creative possibilities that it affords are virtually unlimited.

FL Studio has enabled me to create both symphonic and electronic dance music (EDM) tracks over the entirety of my musical career, and it has never failed to produce amazing results for any of my works. Although I have had sporadic crashes, which can typically be traced down to a small number of incompatible plugins, I have found a way to work around this issue by implementing a procedure that saves my work at regular intervals. In spite of these rather small issues, I have found FL Studio to be an exceptionally trustworthy tool for meeting my requirements in terms of music production.

From my own personal experience, I can say that the majority of the instruments that come pre-installed with FL Studio are a lot of fun to experiment with and tweak to one’s liking. When you consider that the entire download is less than one gigabyte, it is unreasonable to expect it to come with enormous piano multisamples that take up 75 gigabytes. To look on the bright side, though, if you are willing to put in some work and effort, you can actually get FL Studio to produce some really impressive sounds for you.

It is interesting to note that the majority of the synth presets that come packaged with FL Studio appear to have a high-pass filter applied to them, with the exception of the drum and bass sounds.
