At CES 2022, Nvidia and Intel showed off their GeForce RTX 40 laptop GPUs and Raptor Lake mobile CPUs for the next generation. The first game laptops with this new hardware are just starting to come out. Gigabyte’s Aorus 15X has a new GeForce RTX 4070 mobile GPU and a very fast Intel Core i9-13900HX processor.
It’s been two years since Nvidia made a big change in its mobile GPUs, so it will be interesting to see how the GeForce RTX 4070 compares to the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti in terms of speed. The new CPU and GPU are housed in a beautiful 15.6-inch chassis with a 240 Hz QHD display, a full-size RGB keyboard with a number pad, and a big glass touchpad. There are a lot of laptops that want to be on our list of the best game laptops, and the Aorus 15X is one of them.

Gigabyte Aorus 15X: Display
The 15.6-inch anti-reflective screen has thin bezels that are only 0.19 inches wide on the sides and 0.43 inches wide at the top (where the 1080p camera goes). But the bottom border is 1 inches and stands out much more.
Gigabyte gave the Aorus 15X two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A) ports, one Thunderbolt 4 port, one HDMI 2.1 port, one Mini DisplayPort 1.4 port, 2.5 GbE, and a combo headphone jack. For your wireless needs, there are Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 radios. Above the keyboard are two 2-watt speakers that use DTS:X Ultra Audio Technology. Gigabyte Aorus 15X: Performance

The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a high-performance game laptop that performs well in all areas. It has an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card, which give it the power to play games and do chores that require a lot of processing power. The 144Hz IPS display on the laptop makes the images smooth and clear, and the thermal management system keeps the device cool even during long game sessions. The laptop’s keys can be changed, and its speakers make for a good sound experience. Overall, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a great choice for gamers and power users who want a top-performing laptop.
Gigabyte Aorus 15X: Battery Life
The Gigabyte Aorus 15X has a good battery life. Under average use, it can last up to 5 hours. But if you play games or do other things that use a lot of power, the battery life can be much shorter. The high-performance hardware in the laptop, like the NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card, can quickly drain the battery. Also, the battery can’t be taken out of the laptop, which makes it hard to change. Overall, the battery life of the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is good but not great, so users may need to keep their charger close by during long use.
Final Words
We were excited to try out the latest computers with Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, and the Aorus 15X is a good place to start. In older games like Grand Theft Auto V, the Aorus 15X had trouble keeping up, but in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it beat out the competition. In Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3, it also showed off its next-generation power.
Also, the Aorus 15X did well in our productivity tests, with the Intel Core i9-1300HX Raptor Lake processor coming in just behind the Core i9-13980HX in the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 in Geekbench and Handbrake. The laptop did very well in the 25GB file transfer test as well.
Gigabyte Aorus 15X review: The good and The bad

- Strong CPU and storage performance
- Fast 240Hz QHD display
The Bad
- Speakers are underwhelming
FAQS
Even though the Aorus 15X was well made and had a nice look, the keyboard didn’t have good tactile feedback. Even though the monitor didn’t have enough brightness on paper, it did well in real-world tests, but the speakers are at best mediocre.
It has a 240Hz gaming monitor with a 72% NTSC colour gamut that shows the real colours of games. The high refresh rate of 240Hz gets rid of motion blur and leaves behind a perfectly smooth picture.
