We believe that the longer battery life mixed with the capability of also having the system outfitted with 5G is good since it allows you to avoid the loss of connectivity that would otherwise occur due to the use of 5G.

It makes sense to provide more users with cellular access in areas that are prone to power outages, even though wireless connectivity is, in my opinion, the most favored option for remote users to connect to the corporate campus.

HP EliteBook 840 G9 review: Battery Life

On average, the battery lasted about 4 hours and 2 minutes. Since it’s a 250-nit panel, the power slider was set to “balanced,” and the screen brightness was set to near 100%. Four hours and 42 minutes was the best we could do. As usual, we tested the device by using it until the battery died, and we kept track with Windows 11’s battery reports.

The result is about average, but not very good. Any Intel-based ultrabook should have a battery life of between four and six hours. But, as we said, these new P-series processors use more power. More ultrabooks and convertibles are shipping with 72WHr and 80WHr batteries to make up for this, but this one still has a 51WHr battery.

HP has begun distributing the EliteBook 840 G9, with prices beginning at $2200 USD for the base configuration and ranging up to approximately $3000 USD for the version that we reviewed.
