The multifunction printer that is known as the HP ENVY Inspire 7955e. It means that scanning a variety of media, from ancient photographs to piles of vital documents, is a simple and straightforward process. It prints relatively rapidly, and because the cost-per-print is reasonably cheap, it keeps your ink spending in control if you print every once in a while; nevertheless, prices can still add up rather quickly if you print quite frequently.
It handles contrasts poorly in some instances, resulting in colours that look obviously off, but it prints images that have a decent appearance, including high levels of detail and contrast. Unfortunately, it is difficult to access the sheet rollers in the event that there is a paper jam, and you need to spend a lot of time replacing the cartridges frequently because the printer only produces a small number of pages before the ink runs out.

HP Envy Inspire 7955e: Design
A 125-sheet cassette and a 15-sheet picture paper tray that can accommodate 5×5, 4×6, and 5×7-inch paper sizes are both available for paper input. While panoramic paper will need to be fed through the main input tray, custom-sized picture paper will not fit in the photo paper tray. Up to 60 pages can be dispensed from the output tray. Up to 35 sheets can be stored in the ADF.
The 2.7-inch colour touch screen is convenient when used independently. It worked well with my inputs and swipes through the options. However, it is on the diminutive side. The Canon Pixma TS8320, which costs about the same, has a colour touchscreen that’s 4.3 inches in size. HP provides the aforementioned HP Smart app for managing the printer remotely from a computer or mobile device. Media card slots and a USB direct interface for a thumb drive are absent. You can buy this printer from its official website.
HP Envy Inspire 7955e: Setup
While a wireless network and internet access may seem convenient in theory, in practice we found myself longing for the simplicity of a USB cable connection. The printer does have a USB connector, and we did set it up that way to conduct some testing, but we found it annoying that you couldn’t access all of HP Smart’s functions without a cloud-based account.
You can’t create quick access buttons for things like scanning with certain settings, scanning to email, etc. The QR code on the quick start instructions allowed me to quickly and easily install the HP Smart app on my iPhone. Unfortunately, the connection was just temporary, and the subsequent three tries were all unsuccessful. The blue wifi indicator light on the Envy Inspire was blinking, but my iPhone could not detect it.
HP Envy Inspire 7955e: Print Speed
In 32.2 seconds, or 9.3 pages per minute, the HP Envy printed our five-page text document. This was a better rate than the typical 9.1 ppm. The printing speed for both text and graphics was above par. Our six-page PDF with colour pictures and text printed on the HP Envy in 1 minute and 41 seconds, or 3.6 pages per minute. This was a lot quicker than the typical rate of 2.7 ppm.
The HP Envy’s duplexer allowed for speedy two-sided printing. In 2 minutes and 49 seconds, or 3.6 pages per minute, it printed a 10-page text document on five sheets. The LCD screen will indicate that the paper is drying for around six seconds after printing the first side of a two-sided sheet. The Canon TR8620 costing $180 produced the same print at a slower 3.1 pages per minute.
Final Words
As a home and family computer, the HP ENVY Inspire 7955e holds its own. It can print high-quality photographs and features both a flatbed scanner and automatic document feeder for scanning a wide range of media types. The colours are wrong and it has trouble reproducing realistic settings. While the cost per page is minimal, high volumes of printing can quickly add up the expense of replacement cartridges.
