Design and Build
Huawei says that the smart pearl-like finish on the back has a different design on each phone because it is done by hand. When you tilt the phone, this finish reflects light beautifully. BUT many people thought it looked very old-fashioned and even gaudy. You can also get it in black, which is more classic and has none of these problems. Do you like or dislike that pearl finish. The screen looks great, the colors are beautiful, and it gets very bright, reaching well over 1,000 nits in bright sunlight, making it easy to read. This is a big improvement over last year’s P50 Pro, which wasn’t very bright and was hard to use outside.
The P60 Pro also has a dynamic refresh rate that can range from 1Hz to 120Hz. This helps make scrolling feel as smooth as butter, but again, this is pretty standard these days.
Hardware and Battery Life
The Huawei P60 Pro utilizes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is also found in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Essentially the same. Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, which offers a 5G variant, the P60 Pro is limited to a 4G LTE network. The Snapdragon platform supports 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage or 12GB of RAM with 512GB of storage. They both lack the microSD card slot that has become customary on premium smartphones.
