The Jaybird Vista 2 are a good all-around pair of earbuds that came out in 2021 and were made with working out in mind. They replace the popular Jaybird Vista headphones. The goal is still to make workout-friendly headphones that fit well, sound good, and have a lot of battery life. With the Vista 2, Jaybird changed the design of the earbuds and the case to make it more “earth proof.”
They also improved the sound quality and added active noise cancellation to help you block out the world. It has also boosted the battery. The Vista 2 is more expensive than the original Jaybird Vista because of these changes. Still, the big improvements make it an even better choice for anyone looking for the best true wireless earbuds to sweat in, whether for running, HIIT training, or going straight to the weights section of the gym.
Even though the active noise cancellation isn’t as good as it is on models like the Sony WF-1000XM4, the fit, low profile design, sound quality, and long battery life make the Vista 2 some of the best wireless earbuds for working out as well as listening at home or in the office. So, the Jaybird Vista 2 is on our list of best wireless earbuds.
Jaybird Vista 2 review: Design

Back in the early days of Jaybird, before the Vista came out, its wireless sports headphones were very popular because they fit well and stayed in place. The original Jaybird Vista earbuds kept this trend going with a combination of wings and ear tips that made for a good fit and a design that didn’t get in the way.
With the Vista 2, Jaybird mostly kept the same style but made a few small changes that make them better for working out. With the set of ear tips and wing tips that come in the box, you can make sure that the earbuds will fit a wide range of ears. We were lucky that the ones that were already plugged in worked well right out of the box.
These buds don’t move at all during steady jogs, fast runs, or HIIT workouts at home. The Jaybird app for your phone also has a “Find My Fit” mode to help you find the best way to wear them so they stay in place. When you take the buds out of the charging case, they do feel a little heavier than the first Vista.
This is probably because the new in-ear motion sensors and microphones that were in the first Vista are also in the second Vista. But once they’re in your ears, you don’t really notice the extra weight. You can get this earbuds from its official website.
Jaybird Vista 2 review: Comfort
Jaybird hasn’t changed much about how the original Vista was made. Both the earbuds and the case are still about the same size and shape. If you have small ears, the earbuds’ round, blocky shape may be uncomfortable. The earbuds come with three different types of wing tips for the ear tips, each with a different length.
Only the wings are different sizes. The tips of all three birds’ ears are the same size. This means that if your ear canal isn’t exactly the right size, you might not get a comfortable fit or a tight seal. Even worse, third-party ear tips are almost impossible to find because Jaybird uses its own ear tip sleeves.
Each earbud has a button on the Jaybird logo that you can click to control playback and listening. It takes a lot of force to click the button, which accidentally jams the earbud deep into your ear canal, causing pain and discomfort.
Jaybird Vista 2 review: Connectivity

In terms of battery life, Jaybird says that the new Vista earbuds will last 33% longer than the old ones. With the Jaybird Vista 2, a single charge can last up to eight hours, and a fully charged case can last up to 24 hours. The battery life is pretty good compared to other sporty earbuds that cost about the same as these.
The Sony WF-SP800N can play music for up to 9 hours on a single charge, while the Bose Sport Earbuds can play music for up to 5 hours. After an hour of working out with ANC on, the battery dropped by 15%, so it looks like those numbers are for when ANC and SurroundSense are not being used.
You can put them in the charging case when it’s time to charge them. A five-minute charge is enough to give you an hour of play time. The case can also be charged wirelessly, and it worked perfectly with our IKEA lamp that charges wirelessly.
Jaybird Vista 2 review: Noise cancelling
The Vista 2 has ANC and something called SurroundSense, which is a passive cancellation that can be changed. Pass-through and ANC modes are pretty common, but SurroundSense isn’t as common. It lets you change how much outside noise gets through the buds, so you can be more aware of what’s going on around you.
It makes sense for earbuds made for sports, but it’s cool that you can change how much outside noise gets through. The Jaybird app can change the wind filter and raise the bar for how much outside noise gets in. Or you can just be ANC to the core.
Audio performance

There are many different presets to choose from, including ones made just for you by the brand and the balances that adventure athletes always use. After testing the water for a few minutes, we chose one called “the perfect balance” because it had a sound that was just right for us. So, the sound might not be to your liking at first, but the Jaybird app lets you change a lot of things, so we think these earbuds have something for most music fans.
Call performance
With a feature called SurroundSense, the Jaybird Vista 2 can also boost the sound of sounds around you. SurroundSense mostly boosts high frequencies and makes a soft “hiss” if you turn it all the way up in the app’s settings. Runners and bikers who need to be aware of their surroundings will like this feature.
Outdoor adventurers will like that the wind filtering can be changed. With their built-in microphones, the earbuds can block out annoying wind noises, and you can change how well this works in the Jaybird app.
Battery and charging
Being able to use true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation for 24 hours straight is pretty cool. With ANC off, the earbuds can be used for 8 hours, and with ANC on, they can be used for 6 hours. To get the full 24 hours of use, you have to charge the earbuds in the charging case when the 8/6-hour play time is up.
You can also charge them whenever you need to by putting them back in the charging case when you’re not using them. This makes sure that the earbuds are always fully charged when you want to use them. You should always have the charging case with you so you can put your earbuds in it when you’re not using them.
It’s small and light enough to fit in your pocket (see image above), hydration pack, or running belt when you’re running, or in your daypack when you’re traveling or hiking.
Jaybird Vista 2 review: Conclusion
The Jaybird Vista 2 Truly Wireless headphones are the next generation of the Jaybird Vista Truly Wireless headphones. They are made for people who are always on the go and want more durable and stable headphones. With this new update, the manufacturer has increased the buds’ resistance to dust and water to IP68, but we don’t test for it yet.
They now also have a system that helps block outside noise called an active noise canceling (ANC) system. Overall, though, it doesn’t do as well as it could. Still, these headphones have a very stable and comfortable fit, and you can change the sound profile of their neutral sound with the parametric EQ and presets in the app that goes with them.
