Review Score

Meizu is a Chinese customer electronics company that was established in 2003 and produces smartphones and music players. It started its first smartphone in 2008 and its first music player in 2007.

Unfamiliar with most of the world, Meizu is prominent in its homeland of China the place local users have been welcoming the name MX, PRO, and M series of handsets. Whereas the former are supposed to be one for the Best smartphones Meizu is capable of building, Them series is the place the company experiments with giving the most value likely at a sub-$199 price.

Them series’ third-generation flagship device, the M3 Note goes all out, a massive display, above average performance, promising high-end smartphone features like a metal physique, a competent camera, and excellent battery life. We’ll know specifically how much the M3 Note fulfills the brand’s objectives. Best deal on MEIZU M3 Note at Gearbest.

The Meizu M3 Note is good-looking and sturdy, however also slightly bulky. At 5.75 oz (163 g), it brings a good bit of heft, and with its 0.32in (8.2mm) thickness, the handset seems unabashedly plump next to the thin smartphones of today.

Still, the Meizu is comfortable to carry and using it one-handed is a legitimate chance thanks to its fair proportions. We also like how the antenna lines are incorporated in an aesthetically nice way, and the camera on the back is flush including the body.

The M3 Note features a Home button under the display. The fingerprint scanner is very quick and correct, however, like the volume and power keys to the right, the Home button seems a bit smooth and wobbly.

Sadly, Meizu has ditched the great IGZO panels found on the m1 note and m2 note for a more traditional, presumably less costly panel. Although the m3 note retains both display resolution and size, at 1080P and 5.5, it lacks a little bit of the saturation and vividness of the displays found on its predecessors.

The m3 note’s display is still larger than most in this price class as it provides wonderful viewing angles, good contrast, and the option to make slight changes to the color temperature.

The Meizu m3 note comes with a 13 MP rear camera provided average performance for the phone’s price. Sadly, captured photos often lacked detail, were surprisingly smooth, and lacked the dynamic range required for higher contrast scenes. Although the camera provides photos with simply the right amount of saturation and accurate color reproduction, excessive noise, regardless of lighting situations, often distracted from the overall image. It comes with a 5 MP front camera.

Battery Life

It has a 4100mAh non-removable battery, the m3 note is ready to provide wonderful battery life. On one event, I used the phone for a day and a half, however still achieved a very decent four and a half hours of screen on time. Battery life is better than the vast majority of smartphones, including flagships just like the Samsung Galaxy S7. This, in fact, is very impressive considering the phone’s price.

Whereas many producers like Xiaomi have transitioned to working Qualcomm‘s mid-range processors in budget devices, Meizu has decided to stick with Mediatek for the m3 note.

The m3 note comes with a Mediatek Helio P10, which could be considered similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 617. Overall performance remains to be decent for the price, however, performance was otherwise pretty good. You can purchase the m3 note with both 2 or 3 GB of memory. Light-to-moderate multi-taskers must be effective with the 2 GB model. However, heavier multi-taskers may need to try the 3 GB model. It seems that the Mali T860 MP2 GPU simply isn’t sufficient to drive these titles. This is disappointing as even the m1 note had no trouble in this department.

Display: 5.50-inch
Processor: 1 GHz octa-core
Front Camera: 5-megapixel
OS: Android 5.1
Resolution: 1080×1920 pixels
Storage: 16GB
Rear Camera: 13-megapixel
Battery Capacity: 4100mAh

Although the Meizu M3 Note appears good and the battery is nice, the performance simply isn’t the re, and the camera is mediocre. For the price, you may get a variety of other more powerful smartphones that also take better photos. It’s a tough time for budget phone producers because there are so many affordable devices at the market with good design and decent specs. The Moto G4 Plus is a nice instance.
If $200 is all you can spend on a smartphone, think about the Huawei Honor 5X instead. It’s made of metal, has a fingerprint sensor, packs a decent Qualcomm processor, and takes good photos for $200. Another option is the Lenovo Moto G4 Plus, which prices $250. It’s not all metal just like the Honor 5X. However, it does have a fingerprint sensor, water resistance, and fast charging.
Those with a little more cash in their pockets might also think about the $400 ZTE Axon 7 or Oneplus 3, which boast the identical high-level specs of a Samsung Galaxy S7 and beautiful designs. Unfortunately, Meizu’s M3 Note doesn’t carry sufficient power or style to the table, and we can’t suggest it.
