The G Stylus should cost $299, but it’s currently on sale for $279, which seems like a lasting discount. That’s the same as the G Stylus from last year, but Motorola has made some improvements to this year’s model, like a bigger 5,000mAh battery, a jump from 4GB to 6GB of RAM, and a faster-refreshing 90Hz screen.
It still has a big 6.8-inch 1080p screen and, as its name suggests, a stylus that is built in. The Snapdragon 678 CPU from last year has been replaced by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor. There is a headphone jack, a microSD card slot to add to the 128GB of storage, and a charger in the box. These are all useful features that makers are slowly getting rid of, starting with flagships and working their way down to the midrange.

Onyx Boox Nova Air C: Design

The Moto G pen from this year looks a lot like the one from 2020. It has a hole in the middle of the front, is made of plastic and glass, and has a silo at the bottom right to hold the pen. It’s clear that Motorola’s design is working, and I’m glad they aren’t changing something that isn’t broken.
But when you hold the Moto G Stylus, it feels almost too big to use. It has a 6.8-inch screen, which is bigger than the 2020 model’s 6.4-inch screen. It also has a 5,000mAh battery, which makes it about the same size as the just-released Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in all measurements. You can buy this phone from its official website
Onyx Boox Nova Air C: Display
The LCD screen on the Moto G Stylus (2022) is a large 6.8 inches, giving you plenty of room to watch material on its 720p screen. That also gives you more room to use a pen, whether you want to write notes, draw, or do something else.
At this price point, it’s nice that the Moto G Stylus (2022) has an adaptive frame rate of 90Hz. That means web pages will scroll much more smoothly and graphics will look better (if the phone can keep up). Even though 90Hz isn’t the fastest out there, it’s much better than a 60Hz screen.
Onyx Boox Nova Air C: Software

Android 11 is already on the Moto G Stylus (2022), which is a failure. Google released Android 12 almost six months ago, but tests and betas for developers were available for a long time before that. So, it’s not fair that Motorola sent out a phone in 2022 that didn’t have the most recent software.
The fact that Motorola’s update policy is usually bad, especially for cheap devices, doesn’t help. In this case, the phone maker is only promising one platform update, which is, you got it, Android 12. Moto phones might be cheap, but their software is not made to last.
Onyx Boox Nova Air C: Performance
The Moto G Stylus (2022) is a big letdown and way too expensive for what it is. Even if the phone had good hardware, we would have a hard time recommending it because the updates aren’t done well. As it stands, I don’t like much about this device. The pictures aren’t great and it doesn’t work well.
Even though the OnePlus Nord N200 5G is not perfect, it is a much better experience in most ways. (Though OnePlus’s plan for updating the Nord N isn’t very good either.) If you don’t have a lot of money, we think you should go with OnePlus. The pen is useless.
Onyx Boox Nova Air C: Battery life
The Moto G Stylus 5G gets a high overall score from CR’s testers, who praise its screen, speed, and durability. But compared to other models, its still picture and video quality, sound quality, and battery life ratings are just average. In our tests, the phone worked for 32.5 hours on a single charge.
Price and availability
The phone has a good-looking FHD+ LCD screen that measures 6.8 inches and has a resolution of 2,460 by 1,080 pixels. The screen stands out because it has a 120Hz refresh rate. Most phones at this price have screens that only update at 60Hz or 90Hz. The faster update rate makes it easier to move from one app on the home screen to another, browse the web, and play games. When put up against the Moto G 5G ($399), which has a 90Hz screen, this benefit is clear.
