The MSI Stealth laptop brand has long been one of my favourites among gaming notebook lines due to the excellent balance of portability and performance that it offers. However, the model from the previous year was a letdown. After a few years of using the same design, the chassis began to feel old, and updating the system’s specifications did not solve the fundamental problems that were being caused by the system.
But for 2023, MSI has given the Stealth a total redesign, which includes a fresh new look, an optional display that can run at 240 hertz, more powerful components, and not just one but two different sizes to pick from. In fact, there are so many new features that MSI decided to rebrand the entire series as The Stealth Studio because of all of the improvements. After having one in my possession for the past few weeks, we have the impression that we may be looking at the most advanced gaming laptop released this year.

MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Design

The MSI Stealth 14 Studio has a magnesium-aluminum alloy body with sharp corners and a white lid with a red dragon on top. The underside of the Stealth 14 is similarly white, and when you open the lid, the black interior, complete with white lettering on black Chiclet-style keys and individual RGB lighting, really stands out.
The deck may be cramped, but even my massive hands had no trouble typing on it. The huge touchpad is placed slightly off-center on the right, and the 14-inch display looks great thanks to the white lid that conceals the screen’s bezel. The webcam, with a real shutter to prevent spying, is located in the upper centre of the screen. You can buy this laptop from its official website
Display and Keyboard
The MSI Stealth 14 Studio features a 14-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel IPS-Level Full HD display. With its wide viewing angles and vivid colours, the IPS technology is ideal for content development and graphic design, two fields that rely heavily on correct colour reproduction.
The MSI Stealth 14 Studio’s keyboard is illuminated via backlighting. Each each key on the keyboard can have its own unique RGB lighting effect programmed by the user. This upgrade improves the laptop’s aesthetics and makes it easier to view in dim environments, which is especially helpful when typing or playing games.
MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Audio

The MSI Stealth 14 Studio has a powerful sound system that improves your ability to enjoy and create in a variety of media formats. The premium audio chipset and high-definition speakers create a listening experience like no other. The audio reproduction on the laptop is crisp and vibrant, making it ideal for audio editing, movie watching, and music listening. Moreover, the audio output is improved with the addition of Nahimic 3, an audio enhancer that provides virtual surround sound and user-definable audio profiles.
MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Performance
The Stealth 14 Studio, with its Intel Core i9-13700H processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, excelled in this area, proving itself to be an excellent machine for producing media. It rendered at faster-than-acceptable speeds for 4K video in DaVinci Resolve 18.
We opened 45 Google Chrome tabs, some of which were playing YouTube videos and one of which was playing Iron Man on Disney Plus, and the Stealth 14 handled them all without a hitch. That got the spectators excited, but there was no lull in the action. Thanks to the vapour chamber cooling mechanism, my day in the Stealth 14 Studio continued normally.
MSI Stealth 14 Studio: Battery Life
The Stealth 14’s powerful specifications usually result in a shorter battery life. This is the norm for most modern laptops that have a dedicated graphics processing unit. The Stealth’s battery life of 3 hours and 17 minutes on our in-house battery test (constant web browsing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits) is much shorter than the mainstream laptop average of 8 hours and 14 minutes.
The MBP 14’s time of 14:02 was fast enough to win this category, but the Dell XPS’s time of 8:58 was extremely respectable. The displays are the most noticeable difference between the XPS and the Stealth.
Final Words
One such mainstream laptop that may be used for both content creation and document pushing is the MSI Stealth 14 Studio. It is sleek and light, with impressive specifications. It’s versatile and efficient enough to serve as both a workstation and a gaming rig at home.
The laptop’s limited battery life is the sole drawback otherwise. Both the performance and battery life of the MacBook Pro 14 are excellent, but the price can skyrocket if you choose the wrong configuration.
MSI Stealth 14 Studio review: The good and The bad
It has a good screen, respectable hardware, and an effective cooling system, in addition to having a high-grade build quality.
The Good
- Nice sleek design
- Punchy performance
The Bad
- Battery life is its kryptonite
Questions and Answers
The 144Hz/7ms IPS level display in the GS65 Stealth Thin series is the first of its kind, and it offers a Full HD resolution, a 72% NTSC colour spectrum, and 100% sRGB colour calibration for more accurate and vibrant colours on the screen.
While high-end gaming laptops can live for up to six years, the average lifespan of a midrange model is three to four. They have a shorter lifespan than they could with proper care and maintenance. Although the hardware has a 10-year lifespan, it may not be compatible with today’s software.
