Philips Hue Festavia: Set up
The Festavia string lights are just as easy to install as regular Christmas lights, so long as you know how to string lights along a tree or a wall. Philips Hue recommends starting at the bottom of the tree while decorating so that the power cord doesn’t become tangled up. There’s not much more to it than that.
Connecting Festavia lights to the Hue app comes after you’ve arranged them to your liking. Since we already had a Hue Bridge and some Hue lights set up in my home, we simply tapped the menu button (three dots) in the upper right corner of the Hue app’s home screen and selected “Add lights.” You can buy this Philips Hue Festavia from its official website
Philips Hue Festavia: Performance
As you might expect from a Philips Hue product that can change colors, you can use the Hue app to make the Festavia show any color you can think of. And because the 20-meter string light has three gradient LED zones, you can actually have three different colors of lights on at once, like blue, yellow, and red.
The Hue app makes it easy to choose these colors. There are three balloons over a color palette that you can drag and drop to change the color on the fly. You can also change how bright the LED lights are.
Price and Availability
The price of the Philips Hue Festavia is $159.99, £139.99, or €159.99, and the official release date is November 15, 2022. At the time this review was written, however, the Festavia was fully sold out, and new units are now “coming in 2023.” This means that people who are interested in the Festavia won’t get any holiday cheer from it this year.
Final Words
The Festavia has left me with mixed emotions. I’ll admit that one side of me thinks Hue’s smart string lights are the best on the market because they’re so feature-rich and well-made. It does this in a product that requires minimal effort to install and which works in tandem with the rest of the Hue smart lighting system.
On the other hand, there’s a part of me that thinks the Festavia are way too pricey to ever justify purchasing. For less than ten bucks, you can acquire a set of string lights with the same 20 meters of length as the Festavia and just as many features (including color changing and effect lights).

FAQS
The Hue app comes with three effects already set up: Candle, Fireplace, and Sparkle. Sparkle was made just for string lights. Each of these gives the string light a soothing effect that makes it look great.
With an average life of 25,000 hours, a Philips Hue light bulb won’t need to be replaced nearly as often. How often you need to change a Hue light bulb varies on how many hours you use it every day, but it can last up to 25 years.
