Razer makes many goods for gamers, and their gaming mice are among the best on the market. Razer is known for making steady new versions of their products, like the BlackWidow V4 Pro keyboard, but every once in a while they come out with a whole new line of products. The Razer Cobra series is a brand-new addition to the company’s mouse lineup. It comes in both a regular wired version and a pro wireless version. Razer sent us a Cobra Pro so that we could review it.
With the same size and shape as the Viper Mini, this could be the wireless pro version that many people wanted. Unfortunately, the answer is a resounding no, but Razer was able to take some of its best mice and combine them into a whole new category. This might not be enough to please the most devoted Viper Mini fans, but it’s more than enough for most gamers.

Razer Cobra Pro: Ease of Use
The wireless USB dongle can be used with any computer that has a spare USB-A port, just like any other Razer accessory. The wireless dongle can be connected to a computer through the Type-A to Type-C Speedflex cable, a USB dongle converter, a Bluetooth connection, or wirelessly.
The Razer Synapse software is required for the Razer Cobra Pro wireless gaming mouse to function properly. When you initially connect the mouse to your computer, the Synapse software should be automatically installed without your having to look for it. Cancelling the installation of Synapse should end any further prompts to use the program.
Razer Cobra Pro: Comfort
The body of the Cobra Pro is constructed out of matte black plastic that is completely smooth, and the grips on either side are ridged and composed of rubber. It includes shiny black accents that are fashioned like mouse buttons and are scattered throughout. The rubberized finish and notch are also features of the illuminated scroll wheel.
The Cobra Pro offers a total of 11 configurable RGB zones for its lighting, including the scroll wheel, the logo on the palm rest, and the nine different zones of underlighting. These areas are compatible with Chroma. The Cobra Pro is also the first mouse from Razer to have a function called “Smart Dimming,” which automatically lowers the lighting on the mouse when it is being used to conserve battery life (now that I think about it, why don’t all RGB mice have this feature?!). The lights will turn off if there is no motion detected for three seconds.
Razer Cobra Pro: Performance
The Razer Cobra Pro fared exceptionally well over the entirety of the test period. With its 30,000 maximum DPI and optical Focus Pro 30K sensor, this mouse provides precise tracking on a wide variety of surfaces, including glass. When pressed, the optical switches employed provided a pleasing click despite their short latency.
If you’re switching from a mouse like the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S, you’ll immediately appreciate the mouse’s improved maneuverability. It’s not the lightest gaming mouse out there, but it’s not notably heavier than Razer’s previous offerings, either. The Cobra Pro’s accurate tracking and comfortable feel make for long, stress-free gaming sessions, even for casual players.
Final Words
The Razer Cobra Pro is an excellent gaming mouse that takes the size and form of the Viper Mini and combines it with the most advanced technology from the Basilisk V3. Although there is a chance that some people may be disappointed that this is not the Viper Mini Wireless, which is something that a lot of people have been asking for, Razer has done a fantastic job of giving the Cobra Pro a feel that is distinctive to what it is.
If you need the lightest mouse or a large number of buttons to give you a competitive advantage in your favorite gaming games, then the Cobra Pro was not built for you because it does not have either of those features. There are lots of alternative mouse available from Razer, each of which provides a superior experience for its intended purpose.
Razer Cobra Pro review: The good and The bad
Interesting mouse from Razer, the Cobra Pro is like a cross between the Basilisk V3 Pro and the Viper V2 Pro.
The Good
- Attractive lighting
- Small and lightweight
The Bad
- Kinda pricey
Questions and Answers
The Razer Cobra is an excellent gaming mouse because of its lightweight design, which makes it easy to use for extended periods of time without tiring your hands.
