The Razer Kaira Pro for PS5 sounded like a top contender for best PS5 headset when we first heard about it. We were hoping that the Razer Kaira Pro for PS5 would live up to the standard set by the Razer Kaira Pro for Xbox, which is one of the greatest Xbox Series X headsets money can buy.
We were partially correct, as it turned out. The Kaira Pro for PS5 has great sound and a snug fit, just like the Xbox version. However, the PS5 Kaira Pro has unnecessary haptic features that increase the price, complicated customizing options, and awkward navigation.

Razer Kaira Pro PS5: Design
The Razer Kaira Pro for PS5 should appear very familiar to anyone who has seen the Xbox version. The PS5 Kaira Pro, like its Xbox counterpart, is a very unremarkable headset for playing video games, including a cushioned headband, oval earcups, a plastic chassis, and extendable steel arms. There has a charging connector, a removable headset, and numerous control buttons. The PS5 variant is black, white, and blue, while the Xbox One one was black and green. The Kaira Pro for PS5 has light-up RGB Razer emblems on the earcups, which is either “cool” or “needless,” depending on your perspective. You can buy this headphone from its official website
Razer Kaira Pro PS5: Audio and Mic
the two wireless frequencies, so you can’t listen to Bluetooth music on your PS5 (or anywhere else) while using the wireless dongle. Disappointingly, neither wireless mode supports simultaneous audio, which is a feature found on the vast majority of Bluetooth-enabled gaming headsets and is increasingly important for keeping in touch with friends and guild mates via Discord.
Additionally, the Kaira Pro for Xbox, which did allow simultaneous audio over Bluetooth, took a different approach. However, due to technological constraints with Microsoft’s proprietary wireless connection on the Xbox, you couldn’t use the headset as a Bluetooth device on its own without first turning on the console.
Software and Performance
If you opt to pair the Kaira Pro through Bluetooth, you can adjust its settings using the Razer mobile app. If you want to customize your Razer headset, you’ll have to use the mobile app because the PS5 doesn’t support dedicated headset apps like the Xbox does and doesn’t work with the Razer Synapse PC software.
There isn’t much here, so skipping the app entirely won’t cost you much. You can cycle among the available audio profiles (you can also do this by pressing the SmartSwitch button repeatedly on any platform or wifi mode), but more importantly, it allows you to define a personalized equalizer profile, which may be especially useful for some users.
Razer Kaira Pro PS5: Battery Life
Battery life testing was also challenging due to the wide range of possible RGB lighting and HyperSense configurations. However, Razer’s website contradicts itself, stating variously that the battery life is between 11 and 50 hours (with Chroma lighting/haptics) and up to 20 hours (without). Expect something in that range, as it were.
Price and availability
The Razer Kaira Pro can be purchased for $200 from several shops like Amazon, Best Buy, and Razer’s own online store. It’s on sale for $150 right now, as of this writing. Its white and black color scheme and silver metallic swivels are designed to complement the PS5’s overall look.
Final Words
On the one hand, the Razer Kairo Pro for PS5 shares the same design and core functionality as the Xbox One counterpart, which helped make both products huge hits. However, the new features increase the price and make it more difficult to operate the headset. The PS5 edition of Kaira Pro seems like it would be a no-brainer recommendation, but after finishing my testing, I couldn’t wait to put it down.
There are better wireless headsets for the PS5 than the Xbox Series X, which is a concern. There are more configurable options, such as the $150 SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ or the $200 HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless.
