Road Angel Halo Pro: Design
The Road Angel Halo Pro is a camera that fits close to your windshield and doesn’t have a screen. It’s not as small or stylish as Road Angel’s most expensive model, the Ultra, and it’s not as easy to store in front of your rearview mirror. Still, we were able to fit it close to the molding behind my car’s mirror, and it didn’t bother me during the day. At night, a bright green power light bothered me until we put some Blu Tack over it.
Once the lens is in place, you can change its direction by slightly moving its body up or down.Like the Ultra, the Halo Pro comes with a power cord that plugs into a cigarette lighter and has a strange, custom USB-C connection. This has to be put in the right way, and it is held in place by a small thumb screw. There is a splitter with a jack for the back camera and a long cable that goes with it. You can buy this Road Angel Halo Pro from its official website
Road Angel Halo Pro: Performance
Even though it only shoots at 30 frames per second and has a relatively low quality, the Road Angel Halo Pro made some of the most useful videos we have seen. During the day, the movies we took from the front and back of my car were clear and showed the road and the cars on it very well.
When we tried to find things like license plates in the video, we even more amazed. Even when we were coming up on the other car at a modest speed, we could read a good number of license plates, especially from the front camera.
Final Words
The Road Angel Halo Pro doesn’t look like a very good dash cam at first sight. But it got more useful details than most of the other dash cams we’ve tried, even the best 4K cams. We didn’t like the Road Angel app, but you only need it to change the settings and aim, and to find out where an accident happened. If you don’t need that, you can watch your footage on a computer and save it there. This is a great deal for front and back safety if you don’t want to spend a lot of money.
