The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic was shown off. It’s a great-looking version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. We spent about an hour with both of Samsung’s new watches, giving the Watch 6 and the Watch 6 Classic about the same amount of attention. They look almost exactly the same, but there are a few key changes in how they are made. But only time will tell if either of them ends up on a list of the best smartwatches. The rotating bezel and the different sizes and battery capacities are the two biggest differences.
We’ll talk more about these in the part about design. As with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, the spinning bezel can be used as a third way to navigate in addition to the touchscreen and buttons. It is also a very interesting and easy way to do so. Other features coming to the Watch 6 line include Google’s Wear OS 4 operating system and Samsung’s One UI Watch 5 skin for it, a redesigned on-watch Sleep app, better heart health features, a Samsung Wallet that can store loyalty cards and airline tickets in addition to credit and debit cards, and a new Custom Workouts profile that lets you create multi-stage workouts like triathlons.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic review: Design and screen

The style is where the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic are most different from each other. The biggest change is that the Watch 6 Classic now has a real rotating bezel that lets you use the interface without touching the screen. It feels great to slowly turn the bezel to move through home screens and settings. It’s almost like a bigger version of Apple’s Digital Crown. I like to keep my hands off my smartwatch‘s screen as much as possible, and the spinning bezel is one of the best ways to do that on any device.
Aside from the bezel, the Watch 6 Classic replaces the Watch 6’s aluminum body with one made of stainless steel. It also gets rid of the Watch 6’s plastic sports band in favor of a nicer one that Samsung calls Hybrid Eco-Leather. This band looks like it’s made of fake leather with a bit of silicone to make it good for the gym and running. It feels good and looks good, but it can be changed out for other bands, and a 20mm watch strap should also fit.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic review: Battery life
The batteries in the new Watch 6 Classic are larger than those in the previous Watch 4 Classic. The 43mm model now has a cell with 300mAh, which is an increase from 247mAh, and the 47mm model now has 425mAh, which is a significant increase from the previous model’s 361mAh.
According to Samsung, you can expect to get up to 30 hours of use with the always-on display activated, or as many as 40 hours with it switched off. However, this will vary depending on how much fitness tracking you’ll be doing, as well as how frequently you’ll be notified of new messages.
Features and Fitness Tracking

Samsung will only be launching the more advanced Watch 5 Pro, skipping the Watch 5 Classic. The Watch 5 Pro is still your best pick if you want the most feature-rich Samsung wearable with the most comprehensive tracking skills, despite the fact that the newer Watch 6 models feel a touch more consumer-friendly. Both Watch 6 models are identical on the inside, while the Exynos W930 CPU offers faster processing speeds by an estimated 18%. Memory has been increased to 2GB from 1.5GB in the Watch 5 series. There are now more alternatives for monitoring sleep than ever before, with devices capable of monitoring everything from sleep stages to skin temperature to snoring.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic review: Price and availability
At Samsung Unpacked on July 26, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic makes its appearance along with the Watch 6, the Tab S9 series, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 phones. In the US, we have prices for the Bluetooth-only Watch 6 Classic models. The 43mm Bluetooth model costs $399.99, and the 47mm Bluetooth model costs $429.99.
We have prices in the UK and Australia for both Bluetooth and LTE models, which can connect to the internet without a smartphone. In the UK, prices start at £369 for a 43mm phone with Bluetooth and £429 for a 43mm phone with LTE. The 47mm size costs £399 if it only has Bluetooth, and £459 if it also has LTE.
Final Words
The Galaxy Watch 6 Classic from Samsung. The spinning bezel comes straight from the Watch 4 Classic, and besides its size, it’s exactly the same as the one on the plain Watch 6. The main difference is that the 47mm Classic is even bigger than the Pro and is Samsung’s largest watch to date. There is a lot of screen space, and I was able to move around it easily by using the touchscreen, the buttons, and the twistable bezel. It is a high-class event. With the Custom Workout modes, you can put together a racing workout, which takes a long time in GPS mode and uses a lot of power (its GPS capabilities are good, with access to the GLONASS and BEIDOU networks, just like a Garmin device).
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic: The good and The bad
It had a really natural feel while being used, and when combined with the touchscreen and buttons, it made navigating the watch feel incredibly natural and instinctive.
The Good
- Larger 47mm size option
- The rotating bezel is a high-quality touch.
The Bad
- Even though the Watch 6 is bigger, the battery sizes are the same.
Questions and Answers
You should get the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic instead if you really like the spinning bezel or if you want a high-end smartwatch with a strong stainless steel case and a comfortable eco-leather band. But I don’t think these benefits alone are worth the extra $100.
If your smartwatch is tied to Wi-Fi and your phone can connect to either Wi-Fi or a cellular network, your phone can be anywhere you want it to be. Even the Wi-Fi network doesn’t need to be the same. Keep your smartwatch within 30 feet of your phone if it isn’t connected to Wi-Fi.
