Tronsmart Onyx Ace Pro: Design and Build
In the last few years, almost all of the wireless earbuds I’ve tested came with pill-shaped charging cases that didn’t have much decoration on the outside. Tronsmart must have grown tired of this simple design, because the Onyx Ace Pro has a silver trim around the flip-top opening and a silver panel on the front with four lights that show how much charge it has.
It’s a little tricky to open the box and get the buds out, but once they’re out, they look like Apple AirPods. There are no rubber ear cups to keep them in your ear canal. Instead, they have smooth plastic ovals on short stalks that rest against the holes in your ears.

We have no trouble being heard by one another, and we can even understand the person who is going to call us because of the high quality of the mics. The headphones’ noise reduction feature effectively muffles ambient noise so you can focus on your call. Tronsmart Onyx Ace Pro: Performance
Podcasts that have quieter or more realistic sounds work much better, and the sound is very clear. It’s the same with phone calls. We haven’t had any problems with how the Onyx Ace Pro earbuds work when we talk to friends and family or take the odd conference call. No one complained about noise or muffled mic output, so it seemed like both parts of the conversation were fine.

In terms of battery life, these have to be some of the best buds we have tried. The buds can last for more than six hours on a single charge in the case before you need to put them back in to charge again. Even though it takes more than an hour to get them back to 100%, we are happy to pay that price for the long listening sessions they offer. Tronsmart doesn’t say how big the batteries are in the buds or in the charging case, but the case isn’t a loser either. After a full two-hour charge, it has enough power to charge the buds about five times. Putting in a total of 36 hours is a good thing.
Price and availability
The company also told me that these should be on Amazon soon, but as we write this, we can’t find them anywhere. If you look at the competition, the Redmi AirDots, which can be bought on Amazon for £25/$25 and have most of the same features as the Onyx Ace Pro, are the most clear alternative. If you want noise-cancelling headphones, you’ll have to spend a bit more, but the Redmi Buds Pro 3, which cost £65 on Amazon UK and $59.99 on Amazon US, are an excellent choice.

Tronsmart lives up to the second part of its name by making a good pair of wireless earbuds that sound good, fit well, and have a long battery life, all for a price that most people can afford.
If you’ve been hesitant to move to wireless earbuds, these would be a great place to start. You can always upgrade to a pair with active noise cancellation later on without feeling like you’ve wasted your money.
