How to Install Google Play Store On MIUI 9 – Guide

Officially, Xiaomi has released MiUI 9 based on Android Nougat for Redmi Note 4X, Mi4C, Mi5C and MI6, although it is still a beta version of the ROM. Unfortunately, this beta version is the official ROM developer version for Chinese ROM, so you won’t get Google Playstore on this ROM. For Xiaomi users in Indonesia, of course, very difficult if there is no Google PlayStore. You cannot use third party apps available on Playstore for free. There are many tricks circling the internet about how to install Google Playstore on Xiaomi smartphone, but after upgrading to Nougat, trick can no longer be used. Basically, all Google apps and services are pre-installed with MIUI’s Global Stable ROMs, but China Stable & Developer ROMs don’t allow you to install Google Apps on the ROM. Although I always suggest that you download the Global Stable version for your device, sometimes installing firmware from China is beneficial, especially if the first one has not been released for your device. Before we go any further, please understand that the installer will only work on MIUI ROMs based on Android 7.0 / 7.1 Nougat. It should work on MIUI 8 and MIUI 9. However, it won’t work if your phone is already running MIUI 9 based on Android 8 Oreo. Therefore, you need to make sure which one is yours beforehand.

How to Install Google Play Store on MIUI 9

To install Google apps, first enable Unknown Sources in your phone. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Privacy and enable the option called Unknown sources.

Now open the App Mi App Store app from home screen of your MIUI 9 phone. With this app, you can download Google Installer app on your phone, which allows you to configure all other apps on your phone.

Once the app opens on your phone, go to the top search bar and type Google and press the Enter key button on your keyboard.

You will now see the play store icon on the search page screen. Tap to install.

Once installation is complete. Tap Open to run it on your MIUI 9 phone.

Now a new page will open in your phone canvas with a round BLUE circle.

tap it Button and the installation process will start on your phone and this will install the 6 files on your phone. This includes Google Play services, Google Framerowk, Google Contacts, Google Calendar Sync, Google Contacts Sync and the latest Google Play store.

Once all the apps are installed on your phone. You will see the Red Circle on the screen with a message from Google Play. This means that the Google Plays store has been successfully installed on your phone.
